You mean like play injured all year, even after it was abundantly clear the CFP was out of the picture and the guy who recruited him was fired?

This is currently "the year", is it not? You're really bummed he missed that banquet that no one cares about and you wouldn't have even known was going on for an unknown and possibly personal reason, huh?

You made it very clear you are selfish. I would easily wait a couple weeks and be there for my teammates. The money isn't going anywhere. It's a decision he will regret if he's not there on game day. Hope he is.

so this is the outrage?

No.

For the media, the "outrage " is simply manufactured content. Also, if any of it has any sense of being real, it's along the lines of making the games less marketable to advertisers since big time household names players are sitting out.

For fans, it's simply selfishness. That part I get. I've absolutely loved watching this young man run for LSU the past three seasons, and as awesome as he's been it's hard not to feel as if we only caught small glimpses of what his true potential could have been, which is an odd thing to say given how much he actually accomplished. Truth is, I just want to see the guy run the ball as a Tiger one last time.

But...I'm also not an a-hole, and I know that the kid has been playing hurt, when the smarter move would have been to sit out much longer and heal properly. In essence, and in the face of media frickheads that actually were in his ear since last year suggesting he sit out this entire year healthy, he played hurt for no other reason than to help his team win. Any LSU fan that can't acknowledge that is a simpleton.

So no...suggesting that Fournette is not a "team player" by not traveling or sitting on the sidelines for practice is an attempt to try and make a shitty position seem more palatable when what it really is is just plain old typical fan selfishness.

Really? He "quit on the team"? Christ you people are drama queens. He's not healthy. Should he just chill with the team and do nothing, wasting time he could be using to get healthy for the combine to appease you? God forbid he actually shows up to the game in Orlanda and cuts up on the sideline in any capacity and the camera catches it. That would be mean he's not taking it seriously enough or some shite I'm sure. No laughing!

You are clueless. Real simple. BE A TEAM PLAYER! Not negative. Truth.

If he wasn't a team player, he wouldn't have played all year. Got hurt 2 weeks before the season with a serious injury. Played against Wisconsin, when guys were targeting his hurt ankle the entire game. Didn't play against Jacksonville State, no big deal. Played hurt again against Miss State. Played hurt again against Auburn and further reinjured his ankle. Sat out the next three weeks to heal. Came back again against Ole Miss, after we'd already dropped two games. Set an LSu rushing record. Played the next week against Alabama, a game we lost and eliminated ourselves from any outside shot at the CFP. Played the next week, still, against Arkansas and got hurt again during the game. Even so, he, at the last minute, decided to suit up in his last home game against Florida, at his request. It was clear as day he was nowhere near healthy, but he still carried the ball 12 times in the game.

But yes, because he isn't suiting up for a meaningless bowl game and weighing playing in the game with his future, he's not a team player.

No clue or care about a banquet. The game. Again, stay on point. You can't justify him not being at the bowl game. Keep trying fool.

Yep. People are outraged that he isn't just sitting there injured wearing P&G while everyone else practices, prepares, etc. for a bowl game when we sit at 4 losses. They somehow see it as him disrespecting his teammates which is like disrespecting them. People think they're part of the team or something. It's a clinic in lonely loser old man outrage. Sad!

Fans being upset that a player doesn't display loyalty to the team isn't outrageous.

I get that you may not agree with that. But, it's absurd to suggest that fans being put off by disloyalty is outlandish. I think it's very reasonable.

Do you have any idea how full of schit you are?

I mean all these thoughtful insights to everyone's soul....and the sage advice. You think way yonder too much of yourself.

if he were to reinjure his ankle again, it could cost him millions. But yeah, for a guy that has grown up in more poverty than the overwhelming majority of the people that are bashing him, i'm sure that shouldn't even be taken into consideration. His future and family are priority number 1, and I'm sure the rest of the LSU team understands that

The ignorance is assuming he won't be there when he said a few days ago he would be.

How do we know he won't travel there on his own dime? And if he doesn't, who fricking cares? Will you think that much more of him because you see a 10 second clip of him standing on the sideline in Orlando? I mean, obviously if he looks stern and doesn't smile or laugh. Otherwise, he's not taking it seriously and has double-quit.
