Well, in our defense, who would willing stay on a sinking ship.
When it sinks....you get off.

I believe it is cultural entropy precipitated by really good TV technology exacerbated by the 'NFL-ization' usurpation of the college football experience.

Warning long...but don't care.

It's cultural. The reason TS started the tradition of night games was twofold: hot weather and to allow 2 of the 3 oil plant shifts to make to the game.

Baton Rouge has lost much of its blue-collar roots due to automation. While the state still holds a substantial number of blue-collar workers, the same group of people that can afford admission to TS also enjoy the luxuries of HD and kick arse tailgates. I'm not railing against progress or the price, it was necessary to compete with other programs, but this is the result...

There is a more complex in-group/out-group social analysis that could be explained, but why bother? This board is for stupid shite.

FWIW in the short term, I think TS can still be up for big games. Also current trends may reverse for a number of societal factors brewing.

Me personally, I stay to 0:00. But I love football. Even if its really bad.

Winning brings in big money and big money and winning bring in fair weather fans. LSU was better when access was easy (parking) and things were cheap now it's like the NFL. When things suck, big money fair weather fans haul arse.

Maybe LSU football is boring as shite now?

Yeah the most successful era in LSU football is incredibly boring. I wish we could go back to the 90's with mediocre to crappy teams. That was so much more fun.

Our fans are the worst.

we LITERALLY had the guy who coordinated Oregon's offense.

For a year. Crowton was the OC for a year. Oregon's truly spectacular offenses really came with Kelly's arrival.

80% of the fans are soft rich idiots who do it for a social event then leave at half to skip traffic so they can make it to church at 8am

So you see why that was relevant.

Do not blame the fans entirely for this. The University shoulders a large part of blame as well:
Rising Tradition Funds/TAF Donations
Rising ticket prices
Poor scheduling
Traffic
Pay to park
Tailgating restrictions
Don't turn here, don't cross there, don't do this, don't do that

The University Adm could care less about the average fan's experience or perception, or the Tradition of Tiger Stadium. All they care about is money and filling the seats, and they don't care where the money comes from or who fills the seats. They do not try to cultivate their fan base.

Maybe if the culture of the Adm changed, the Tradition would return.

Carolina fans stayed during that but whipping from aTm. But they sold out every game even when they were 0-12.

I watched that game and seem to recall more than a few empty seats toward the end.

Yes they did. Probably the best fanbase in the SEC when it comes to supporting their team, win or lose.

Les Miles lost this fan base after 1/9. He doesn't deserve anyone's support until his wins another national title. LSU puts more talent in the NFL than anyone else; has one of the highest paid coaching staffs; and has a home-state recruiting advantage--playing for a top 3 division finish is unacceptable.

After the losing years in the '90s, simply contending was enough. Les knows now that being an also-ran isn't going to cut it anymore. And Alleva needs to quit shitting on the game day experience.

I have never left a game early and never will. I was watching the conclusion of the Miss St game just wishing LSU would pull off the miracle with the knowledge that I could be one of the 15K who actually did see it live and in person.

And YOU are called a BANDWAGON fan. You, sir, are no Tiger.
