If game is not played in Columbia, SC, I could see game being moved to Tiger Stadium. If the game gets moved away from William-Brice Stadium, USC has to play the game where the SEC officials tell them to play it.

Move it to LSU and LSU will just have to make 2 straight visits to SC when it comes around

Regardless of where the game is played, how does SC prepare for a game this week if the entire city is shut down?

It's going to be pretty tough on them.

Yeah I remember the events.

However, BR still had a water supply, electricity, etc. Columbia won't have those things for much of this week in all likelihood.

I'm interested to see how they can compute the math on that. They have at best 300 years worth of records there. 500 year flood is one thing, I can see some form of statistical extrapolation.

I forget exactly but it has to do with the volume of water on a logarithmic time scale, so you can have multiple thousand year floods in a millennium

Here are a couple of pics about 3 miles or so south of William Brice Stadium.

The last one is not a river, it is a crop field by I-77

I've been following the Columbia news most of the afternoon. There's less than 15,000 without power and lack of water service is concentrated in a few areas. Both entities believe they'll have service restored by Wednesday at the latest.

Having read this and the SC thread on the OT, it is apparent this game needs to be moved to TS. But the fricktards in charge probably won't make a proactive decision until the 11th hour.

I don't think they move it. At least not to Baton Rouge.

We're still 6 days out, the Congaree should crest tomorrow. And there's not much if any rain behind it.

That doesn't say "state of emergency equals blanket school closures"

It says if the government determines the school needs to be closed, then they gave to abide by that choice.

A state of emergency doesn't do anything by itself.

It's a beaurcratic step that gives them powers and options that they don't ordinarily have.
It doesn't say any of that crap you wrote! Nice stretch of your imagination, though.

The weather here in SC is supposed to clear out by Tuesday and stay sunny the rest of the week, which should help. They'll do everything they can to play in Columbia, and that's probably what will end up happening. If it has to be moved for some reason, it'd be somewhere like Charlotte or Atlanta, not all the way to BR, despite the wishes of the Rant.

And what shared open date before the SEC title game will they move it to exactly?

Jesus Christ, I obviously was not serious. Let it go.

Simply SC plays at aTm that week so they could go to aTm this weekend and that gives LSU a bye. Then on LSU bye week the LSU and USCe game gets played and aTm has a bye.
