Wouldn't be shocked to see this game change time or venue.

I live in SC. I'll see what I can find out. Weather will improve tomorrow. Water coming down the rivers that intersect at Columbia will be the concern the rest of the week. Williams Brice is not far from the river.

Will be moved to Tuscaloosa with Ritter and crew assigned to call it. Part of a day night doubleheader with Bama /Arkansas game.
Tide fans get in free with their Arkansas tickets ensuring a hostile crowd.

While Spurrier doesn't have final say, he has influence.

FWIW I've looked on several USCe forums and nobody's speculating about game relocation. This is probably wishful thinking on our part

IF the game has to be moved, Spurrier would never agree with a move to Baton Rouge/Death Valley.

LSU had to move their Arizona State game scheduled for Tiger Stadium and play in Tempe, AZ it's not like it's never happened before.

The primary question in my mind is will the Columbia infrastructure and gameday operations be able to handle a game Saturday. Based on what I've read and seen I don't see how they can.

Think Charlotte would be hard due to the race. Most hotels are sold out. However, lsu could fly into Charlotte on Saturday and leave on Saturday.

ASU 2005 was days after the worst natural disaster in U.S. history, where the majority of university resources were tied up in rescue efforts.
If the game had taken place in BR, it would have been less than 200 feet from the largest field hospital the U.S. has built anywhere in the world in the past ~25 years.
The logistics of the surrounding area were all fricked up too.
And in spite of all that, they strongly considered playing the game in TS.
So please, stop bringing up Katrina as some kind of precedent for Carolina's flooding. The two situations aren't even close to related, no matter how historic the flood is for them.

Richland County (where USCe is) declares State of EmergencyThis means the university remains closed as long as the county is under this emergency order.

What's going on in Columbia is pretty bad. Baton Rouge couldn't host because it was overwhelmed assisting evacuees from NOLA, the site of the flooding. Columbia IS the site of the flooding, and will have many displaced residents.

I know that a good number of our fans think the SEC has it in for us, no matter what. However, LSU is undefeated, in the top 5, and has the Heisman front runner. Does anyone really think that a team that will struggle to make any bowl game will get preferential treatment if the venue has to be moved? It may be their home game, but I don't think we will get screwed after already losing s game.

I highly doubt any of that has crossed anyones mind that makes the decisions.
On the other hand I'm sure Saban is lobbying for the game to be moved to the bye week before the LSU-Bama game

National guard called in. This a 1000 year flood level event.
Posted on 10/4/15 at 9:02 pm to SG_Geaux
I'm interested to see how they can compute the math on that.
They have at best 300 years worth of records there. 500 year flood is one thing, I can see some form of statistical extrapolation.
But 1000 year?
Edit: Just skimmed headlines, but it seems to be a government official talking on a camera that this is coming from.

Well SC plays @A&M the day of our bye, so that's not happening. Try another conspiracy.
