Never heard of this Matthew Smith turd. As far as CFN goes Fiutak and Zemek are the only guys I'd recommend on that site.

if Mike Ford doesn't step out of bounds we are 14-0 after beating OSU

I've been saying this since 11/5. We score that TD and the story is how we outslugged them and wore them down.

But the fact that we didn't get it in the endzone let the media frame it is playing to a draw and battle of the field goals, blah blah blah.

That's why Sonic Sam and our stable of beasts in the backfield are going to LEAVE NO DOUBT this year.

If you don't put EVERY team away convincingly, instead of just 12 of 13, people may not actually be convinced.

First of all, I guess you are just trying to rile up LSU fans? Because clearly you have not been paying attention to recent history in this series, nor LSU’s roster, are you only looking at the last game?

Have you forgotten that LSU has won two straight “Seasons” over Alabama in the middle of their so called dynasty run? And LSU hosts Alabama this year with a better team?

The Patrick Peterson interception game( 4 games ago) was a game that is debatable in my mind, being that LSU led that entire game leading into the 4th (another game at Bama. Better than LSU you say? hmmmm

I predicted LSU would beat Alabama 3 straight “Seasons” 2 years ago, and LSU will win this year in Baton Rouge. I like being right... I am very confident this year. We want blood after the last game. LSU beat everyone by 2 TD’s (Except Alabama) last year on their challenging schedule…with a team stockpiled full of sophomores…(Go look how many ranked teams LSU beat last year)

Moreover, LSU has won 9 of the last 12 meetings against Alabama….That’s impressive numbers, go look it up!

Miles is 3-3 against Nick Saban...and to be honest, most CFB's didn't want to see an SEC rematch in the National Championship game...It shouldn’t have been played..

Alabama at the time was 11-1 eating popcorn as 2nd place finisher in the West Division while LSU finished 13-0 beating UGA in the SECCG. As a fan, it just felt wrong BAMA got a rematch. I don’t care how ugly people say game 1 might have been…We won the game….

LSU went undefeated and deserved to escape any SEC foe in the National Championship game since there is not a playoff system.

No one will change my mind on that one. OSU deserved a shot at LSU. Bama was 1-1 against LSU last year and neither of those two game were in Tiger Stadium.

Regarding recruiting, certainly, Alabama has had great classes every single year NICK has been there,( a good judge of talent but rankings are for fans,) Example Mo Claiborne was a 2 star and ended up a top 5 NFL pick…. LSU has 45 NFL players which is 1st or 2nd of all NCAA schools….for 2012…

Alabama isn’t in the top 5 per the stats I am looking at…..though they are climbing… The point? LSU delivers a lot of NFL talent…recruiting rankings are just rankings…

LSU will have 3 more Jr’s in the secondary that will be highly drafted…Eric Reid, TM7 and Simon….All 3 are all SEC…TM was a Heisman candidate..Where do you get drop off? You know nothing about LSU’s depth..

LSU’s depth rivals any top team in the country and why they are preseason #1 by many. LSU DL will not miss a beat…The OL is massive and better, 6 Running backs and a 265 pound converted DL to fullback…..the LB’s will be better and the DB’s are extremely talented and confident. I don't think you are educated about LSU if you think LSU has dropped off in the secondary. And yes Zack M. has NFL talent.

Bottom line, LSU will be better in 2012...and that's a scary thought for most teams

Special teams
:

Brad Wing is the best punter in the NCAA…and we have a darn good FG kicker..

Get your facts together before you talk junk about my Tigers…Until something changes, LSU is still the Daddy of the SEC. But Tide fans would laugh at that….but number of victories against the tide do not lie over the last 12 years....They enjoyed a good laugh on 1/9, that will change Nov 3rd

If all goes well, this will be Miles 4th trip to the SECCG in 8 seasons! Tip the hat! That's strong!

Also, in 2009 it wasn't just the PP interception that cost us the game.

Peterson, Charles Scott, and Jefferson all went down with injuries late in the 3rd quarter with LSU leading.

It killed us. All the JJ/Lee knights should be in total agreement that in 09 JJ was the much better option. He was having a very good game executing a surprisingly good gameplan, and Lee stepped in and shite the bed the way he always did against Bama (minus 1 very big throw in 2010 to secure the win that JJ set up). 4/10 44 yards 0 tds 1 pick.

Charles Scott had almost 84 yards averaging 6.4 a pop. And Peterson had locked down Julio and the first play he went out Julio took a screen 75 to the house.

If any one of those 3 guys stays in that game LSU wins that game IMO.

Woulda coulda shoulda I know, but that article is just funny.

Both teams fans realize how close each game between Les and Nick have been. 2011 Bama had a great defense against the run, our offense was 90% rushing result was 9 pts total in 2 games--mostly because of turnovers and special teams.

Both teams have recruited well--Bama maybe better but if so by a small percentage. 2012 I would give LSU the advantage on defense and special teams.

It comes down to one thing--same as last year. If we have a decent passing game we are gonna be the favorite. The series has been a great one lately. I can't see anyway that our guys will not be fired up for this one. O'line got pushed around some in ship game and this is where we will win or lose this game---I say we win it.

I get that Alabama (as usual) lost a large amount of talent to the draft, but when you're basically churning out #1 class after #1 class, it seems fairly doable to reload.

LSU has recruited at an elite level for years too (other than 2012)

quote:

but with huge chunks of the defense (especially the fantastic secondary) gone to the NFL, and declining recruting talent coming up to replace them, I'm not sure that the gain at QB is enough to offset the losses on defense.

hmmm, since we're talking about recruiting, we lost brockers, who will be replaced by the #1 DT in the country, anthony johnson, who was also a top 25 player in the country.

we lost brandon taylor, who will be replaced by craig lostson, who happened to be the #1 safety in the country out of high school, and a top 25 player in the country.

i won't argue replacing mo, that person will have huge shoes to fill.

BUT, we have tm7, bennie logan, sam montgomery, mingo, minter, eric reid, all coming back. not to mention, the stable of running backs and probably the deepest offensive line LSU's had in YEARS.

quote:

my first bold prediction of the year is that LSU goes down before they play Bama. Most likely they split the Auburn/Florida road games,

how can a person use this logic, when they say something like this?

"Alabama annihilated LSU in the nation title game, which to me points to Bama being better in 2012 (because they were far better in that game, and because they gave a clinic on how to beat LSU), not to LSU being better in 2012 (because somehow this gives them the "motivation advantage")

was the LSU/UF and LSU/Auburn game close? for some reason, i remember both of those games being more of a blowout than the national championship game. so that means LSU won't beat bama because of what happened in the nc, but UF or Auburn will beat LSU......someone help me out here, i'm just not understanding the logic.

It should be noted in 2009, We had the #1 class in the nation over Alabama.

It should be noted that we beat Alabama in 2010 & 2011, and got robbed of an INT in 2009, I think we played them to OT in 2008 but they have been the better team......and it hasn't been close..

It should be noted that every year we go to the national title it seems we have a historic outlier when it comes to turnovers.......see 2007 and 2011.

Seems this dude needs a clinic on FACT CHECKING.

Well said!

In fact, like the poster above said they were so clearly better than a Russel Sheppard catch and turn instead of falling on his butt or an inch to the left on the Ford run, and they wouldn't even had the opportunity to play us again.

You would be wrong. Bama was getting the Mulligan come hell or high water. This CFN roundtable is a direct reflection of the mindset that is currently running CFB as a whole.

I think it's great so many LSU fans are pissed off over this blatantly biased analysis.

Why do you guys think it is CFN's job to say something positive about LSU?

How does that benefit CFN?

LSU just has to take care of business this year and 1-9 can be diminished.

If by "take care of business" you mean, beat Bama in BR and beat Bama again in Miami, then yes.

I don't think we will be able to beat them twice this year either. That's LSU's new standard when comparing themselves to Bama. Get used to it.

No, that's yours due to allowing HomerNation dictating your frame of reference.

Who is HomerNation?

So, when this four team playoff hits in a couple of years, you don't think teams like Bama will be granted more Mulligans after losing to LSU/Divisional Rivals in the regular season?

Enlighten me.
