That's pretty much the gist of it. Give them credit for having a strong team last year, coming to play, and out executing LSU in New Orleans but it was a huge stroke of luck for Alabama to be afforded the chance to play for the title. LSU just has to take care of business this year and 1-9 can be diminished. CFN has been wrong plenty of times before and this piece wasn't particularly well written.

Well folks, let's cancel college football until Napoleon retires.

bama loses at least 2 games, maybe 3. loses to LSU, ARK, and maybe someone like state or auburn gets them.
Saban and his teams get lazy after national titles.. but no one talks about that. I wouldn't bet on Alabama at all to run the table.
Posted on 7/26/12 at 8:55 pm to L S Usetheforce
Correction please..NO bama was the best team that night in January and due to the system allowing a redo then they deserved the trophy...they were clearly not the best team ALL of 2011...that's bs

eh, i mean yeah he hasn't done great after national titles, but if you look at the 2004 season, we had jamarcus trying to be broken in sharing time with marcus randall ( ). we had a lot of talent around him, but we weren't primed to win another title. also, we weren't that bad. we still went 9-2, should have been 10-1 had we not missed an extra point against auburn and then get called for a personal foul blocking theirs at the end. the bowl game, yeah that sucked. bama, in 2010, replaced a lot of starters from 2009. they only returned 3 starters on defense. it appears they get lazy, but in reality, there hasn't been a repeat SEC champion since tennessee in 97/98, so i wouldn't just chalk it up to saban getting lazy. alabama is actually the only repeat west champion in the bcs era. it's a tough conference

So Bama finishes behind us in the SEC standings the last two seasons, but they were clearly the better team the last
4 seasons? Got it.
4 seasons? Got it.

Saban said in August of 04 that the 04 team was the most out of shape team he's ever coached.

Let em talk. All the talk doesnt help them get anywhere this year boys

The Person who wrote that isn't a columnist for CFN, I don't think. Terrible idea, IMO.

link? and who cares. coaches say stuff like that all the time, many times to motivate the team. again, we weren't that bad in 2004 either. the only really bad game was uga. we were still a point away from going 10-1 and back to the SECCG. i guess i'll agree with some people being out of shape, (justin vincent). we averaged almost 400 yds a game and only gave up around 250.

In this mother f*cker. WTF is this jackoff smoking. WHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I am soooo jacked for LSU football right now. I accept nothing less than a skull dragging by LSU come Nov. 3rd. I expect to see mike with tattered shreds of crimson and Hounds tooth hanging from his maw.

Its les miles and the coach's fault getting their butts handed to them during the NCG. LSU simply got out coached .

how so? our options at QB were a wildly inconsistent RSFr Jamarcus Russell or a terrible Marcus Randall at QB. I think we've learned over the past 4 years how big a difference that position can make.

Insightful.........we all know they bombed it. We all know that we tried to do the same things we did on Nov 5th.
This has no bearing on what the real question is: which team will be better in 2012?
That is what this is about.

So the first question has to be, which of these two is better? And in my mind, the answer has to be Alabama. Why does it seem obvious to me? For a number of reasons:
- For four straight years, Alabama has been the better team (and in 2008/2009, it really wasn't close);
- For five straight years (per scout.com), Alabama has out-recruited LSU, and the 2012 class had an especially wide gap (and scout was actually higher on LSU's class than most other sources);
- LSU enjoyed a historic outlier of a season for turnover margin in 2011, which is almost certainly not sustainable;
- Alabama annihilated LSU in the nation title game, which to me points to Bama being better in 2012 (because they were far better in that game, and because they gave a clinic on how to beat LSU), not to LSU being better in 2012 (because somehow this gives them the "motivation advantage")
Yo Dummy!!!!
LSU is set to beat Alabama 3 Straight seasons making it 10 of last 14 meetings.. We will be favored at home, at night and we want blood...LSU will win this game ... heck I've been raising cain with Tide fans for 2 years boasting how LSU would win 3 straight seasons...over the tide...Well the stage looks pretty good right now.
alabama is better at getting hype and they have coach Saban...I understand the respect, but if Les Wins this year, he will be 4-3 over Saban and frankly the last game shouldn't been played which would make it 4-2 against Nicky.... oh well
haters going to hate

Every season is about luck. Auburn squeaked by a few games, Bama the year before, Florida the year before, etc etc etc. u need luck to win. Let's hope lsu has that luck this year.
