I don't think LSU has been ranked bottom 10% SEC RAT since '90s and statistically 2016 LSU wasn't any better passing than in 2015.
The regime and QB change should've made all the difference according to you.

NBot saying, but just saying...

A lot of people thought Andrew Hatch, Anthony Jennings and Danny Etling would never start for LSU either.

A&M had 2, 5 star QB's leave the program in the same year. Jeff Driskell, a 5* didnt do squat at Florida, lost his job and left the system. Jeremy Johnson at Auburn. Georgia had their share as well. Thats off the top of my head. I could find 10 more in 5 minutes if you had a point.

How many QB's have been drafted in the 1st round by scouting depts in the NFL and couldnt play a lick?

Dude, missing on QB's happens more than hitting on them. My gosh, some of you are absolutely clueless.

There's no way that Jefferson, Lee, Jennings, and Harris we ALL complete busts. Its just not logical.

Jefferson a bust? Are you kidding? This guy made some big time plays when it counted the most. I believe he was the youngest starting QB for LSU in 20 years or so. Won the bowl game as a true freshman. Won the MVP of the game.

He led an undefeated SEC champion football team in 2011.

Lit the Aggies up in the Cotton Bowl 1 year.

Won the game of the century against the Gumps in Tuscaloosa.

A bust? Holy cow. He had a very good career at LSU!
Unbelievable.....

Lee wasnt a bust, he wasnt very good but he certainly wasnt a bust.

No one was worse than Jefferson!! His lack of ability cost LSU 2 National Titles

If he doesn't come in the 2nd half, you lose the 9-6 game and don't get to the NC game.

Wait, Jefferson led our team in 2011? Did you even watch the team that year. Jarrett Lee led our undefeated season in 2011, up until Bama. And under JJ, our offense was abysmal against Georgia in the SECCG, until Honey Badger rescued us with those two punt returns. And I won't even mention the 21-0 debacle.

Wow, revisionist history. Lee's stats from 2011:

104-167
62.3%
1306 yards
7.8 yards/attempt
14 TDs
3 INTs
152.0 rating (highest in the SEC)

Not saying that couldn't happen this year, but something feels different about Etling.
He IS different. Etling is an actual QB playing QB. (Myles Brennan will be even better)

They're real QB's and not Glorified Running Backs/Athletes that can't accurately throw the football, read defenses or learn a playbook.

We already have athletes with quick feet that can rust fast with a football in their hands. They're called Running Backs.

BTW, Etling wasn't bad last year, but will be greatly improved under Canada tutelage in 2017.

Brandon Harris was a fine QB and could throw the ball as well as anyone. The problem was the Miles/Cameron scheme and lack of leadership

The light bulb

In the first Bama game of the 2011 season, JJ was moderately successful because Bama prepped mainly for Lee and JJ was able to create plays with his legs.

However, the SEC Championship game should have been a gi-normous neon sign telling Miles that his Offense with JJ was going to be destroyed against Bama. Especially when Saban had over a month to prepare. But as we all know and watched unfold over the last 6 years Les is going to be Les and change never happened.

It appears that you are not happy since you brought it up after it hasn't been mentioned for several months.

No. I give Jarrett Lee most of the credit for the 2011 season, not Jefferson. Lee lead LSU to an 8-0 start in dominating fashion and had the #1 passer rating in the sec at that point. Then Miles absolutely shites all over lee and replaces him for Jefferson and if it wasn't for our great D and run game, we would've lost the sec champ. game because of Jeffersons shittyness and I really don't have to explain the National Championship game.

" under JJ our offense"

Gained more yds and scored more points per game then LSU did before he started. LSU didn't win any of our games in 2011 because of our quarterback play and didn't lose any games that year because of our quarterback play.

No one was pulling for JL to get that Alabama 800 pound gorilla off his back more than I was, but he simply couldn't do it.

As much as I preferred JL's personality over that of JJ, he simply was atrocious versus Bama more times than not and it wasn't even close.

As much as people crap all over JJ's performance in that national championship game, and rightly so, the truth is we probably don't even make that game if not for his effort in the November game against Bama.

JJ's performance in that national championship game,

Lee or Mett would've been massacred that game.

It's perversely fascinating to revisit LSU QB play during the Miles years from 2008 until his termination.

Everyone has their opinions on which QBs were good and which ones sucked.

In truth, it was the coaches running the offenses who sucked.

FIFY

But Lee or Mett might've also provided a spark and changed the momentum. It was crystal clear that we weren't winning that game with JJ at QB.

But we'll never know.
