re: BRPD new class application down to ~40 this year from ~120 last year - EvrybodysAllAmerican
This is how the real trouble starts. Now they will lower standards and take people they would have screened out previously. Those people will become the "bad apples" that will cause problems down the road. Reference NOPD in the 90's.
This. And that's how things go from bad to wo...

re: Baseball cards: A couple of sweet pulls - EvrybodysAllAmerican
So what % of the cards are autographed/valuable? Are most of them worthless cards with a few high dollar pulls mixed in? I havent collected any newer cards since I was a kid but would give this a try. ...

re: Big Mike's in Denham Springs got help from 'Bar Rescue's' Jon Taffer - EvrybodysAllAmerican
I always wondered the same. My guess was the owner of cactus cafe owns the whole strip of buildings (Lebanese place and crossfit place and big mikes), and leased them out and so he didn't really have to make money on cactus cafe anymore to keep it open. Then after the flood it was pointless to open...

re: Big Mike's in Denham Springs got help from 'Bar Rescue's' Jon Taffer - EvrybodysAllAmerican
Seriously though, Big Mikes didn't really need to absorb Cactus Cafe as well. I have gone a few times since they reopened and with the exception of one evening they haven't even opened the other bar.
I don't think it was big mikes needing more space, it was that nobody ever went...

re: Party Realignment Time - EvrybodysAllAmerican
The gop/right would constantly bicker within the party, never compromise or agree on anything and never be able to accomplish anything. The dem/lefts would be too far out of touch with reality and weirdness For any sensible person to vote for. And we'd be stuck with the establishment winning e...

re: Who would you vote for (based on occupation)? - EvrybodysAllAmerican
Pilot is the most accomplished. Fireman could be a dummy, you never know. Same for the minister, but you assume he's at least got some morals. Lawyer is smart but shady, which is a terrible combination for a politician. I'll take minister or pilot based on the limited info. ...

re: Who are the Sleeping Giants of CFB? - EvrybodysAllAmerican
I agree with all this except Tennessee. No real talent in the state outside of Memphis. And several big schools are closer and have as much or more of a foothold in Memphis than UT. When UT was good they were nationally recruiting, mostly because several top programs were in the dumps. i see them an...

re: Who are the Sleeping Giants of CFB? - EvrybodysAllAmerican
I guess if ole miss gets sanctioned back to the dark ages, miss state could become a power by locking up the state. I still think theres too much competition in the west and always will be. The systems set up for a handful of sec teams to succeed and the miss schools aren't in that number. It'd take...

re: Who are the Sleeping Giants of CFB? - EvrybodysAllAmerican
As far as programs that have never done it, South Carolina. They were neck and neck with Clemson only a few years ago. (Clemson was a major sleeping giant as well) lots of talent in state so if one of those schools pulls away from the other, plenty of potential as we see now with Clemson. Also ag...

re: Who are the Sleeping Giants of CFB? - EvrybodysAllAmerican
Yea I don't see much potential for ole miss without cheating. It's a talent rich state but they get cherry picked by the big boys and have to split the leftovers with msu. Neither school is enough of a draw to lock up the state without cheating....

re: Who are the Sleeping Giants of CFB? - EvrybodysAllAmerican
And while Texas is in the dumps, A&M 's potential is through the roof. But they're not being handled much better than the horns. Too much politics in play in Texas. Both schools need a HC that will take charge and not get pushed around by boosters. Like Louisiana on steroids. Somebody with saban's ...
