Etling gives us the best chance to win. He isn't a great QB but he is better than the last few we had on our roster. The freshmen won't be ready and I'm not going to bash Scott for trying but he isn't the answer yet either. Etling gives us the best upside in a QB and has a lot of experience. Next year we won't have any of that so enjoy it.

THEIR era is over. The Etling/Brennan/Narcisse era is just beginning. Hell many on this board were screaming for Lindsey Scott last year
You guys should come check out a few practices. Lol!!! The depth chart is where it is for a reason. The qb room is young. They like ALLLL of these guys.

Never say never. With his skill set, he doesn't have to "start". I watched spring practices live. Gamer. Same was said of blake Simms. Let's wait and see.

I would design some trick plays to best utilize his feet and experience in passing to keep defenses on their toes. I wonder if the coaching staff has considered maybe asking him to become a running back once the realization of him not being a starting qb is obvious?
They like him where he is. It's a young QB room. Plus our RBs are in another level.

What even is the deprh chart as of now? Obviously Etling is the starter and would imagine lowell and miles at the bottom
Per CEO this month

Narcisse
Brennan

Since the birth of rantards the back up QB has always been the best QB on the LSU roster.
Last year people wanted Etling or Scott. Harris was blasted on here.
You are already seeing it this year with Etling, before he's even thrown a pass in a game. Etling is now the rants most hated QB, but it will be a season long debate on who his back up should be. There are two shiney new toys to pick from.

You and the former coach both. Practice player.

I guarandamntee you Harris at Ohio State wouldve been an elite QB.
Then why didnt he do it at LSU?
Surrounded by terrific players and a terrific running game, maybe the best RB to ever play at LSU. Had full support from the HC and played like crap most games. Go re-watch Jacksonville State and tell me this guy wouldve been all that at OSU. Who could he beat out at OSU?
Lets see what he does against Clemson and Fla St, if he even sees the field.
Harris- Elite? Comical.

Les' last 3+ years, he went 15-11 in the SEC, 10-10 against the West.
Against the best defenses in the country with 2 of the worst QB's in the country. Jennings couldnt hit a barn door and Harris had the poise of a scared deer.
And even with these 2 LSU was in the thick off things late into the season. If they didnt have to play Bama, some major hardware wouldve still been collected.
Name a coach that could beat Alabama with these 2?
Show me a coach with bottom 10% QB play that wouldve done better in this conference against these defenses?
Name him? We're listening.

good lord, dude, you're making my argument for me.
Whose responsibility is it to recruit QBs?
Whose responsibility is it to develop those QBs?
Whose responsibility is it to hire an OC?
Whose responsibility is it to make sure his OC runs an offense that best fits the skill set of his QBs?
Whose responsibility is it to game-plan for opponents defenses to exploit their weaknesses and utilize our players' skills?
Merely saying our QBs sucked and other coaches would've done just as bad is a really, really bad argument.

What if BHarrisQB1 goes and sh!ts the bed at UNC with the easier schedule, and Coach O loses 4 or 5 games this year......???? I guarantee you that many Rantards will be wanting Miles back

The nitwits on this board will always abbreviate the top 2 QBs and complain about something

Harris never fit what Mile was trying to do. It was square peg round hole.
I love the people who bash BH while knowing damn well that every 4 star QB to come through LSU underachieved.
I guarandamntee you Harris at Ohio State wouldve been an elite QB.
BH was too inaccurate of a passer to be elite anywhere in D1 football. He had two terrible overthrows against Jacksonville state that killed drives and were the nail in the coffin for him as the starter at LSU. DE came in and drove the same offense to 21 points on the next 3 drives. DE was no barn burner but showed that he can make enough throws to keep the chains moving that BH missed out on too many times.

No Sir by not answering the question asked, you have made my point though.

The HC- Ive said on many occassions in here ,its fair to criticize the former coach on 4 things.
Recruitment/development of the QB position
Speaking to the press
Play calling
Not beating Alabama
I said in here midway thr the 2015. Miles should terminate Cam Cameron right now in the middle of the season. That this guy was going to cost him his job.
_________________________________________________________
Miles stuck by Cam and Harris. There are plenty of reasons why he had to do this, but it doesnt matter. You are judged by your decisions in life. He's got no one to blame but himself.
________________________________________________________
Whose responsibility is it to make sure his OC runs an offense that best fits the skill set of his QBs?
-------------------------------------------------------
Debatable not going to get into that today, but regardless of system the last 2 wouldve played poorly. They just didnt have it. imo.
Jennings has already proved it. Harris will this upcoming season for anyone still thinking this kid was just in the wrong system.

Whose responsibility is it to game-plan for opponents defenses to exploit their weaknesses and utilize our players' skills?
The former HC, was one of the very best in the business at this. Thats why he never had that one terrible yr with arguably the worst QB in Div 1. Quit making my point. Its not necessary.

Then why did Ohio St, Mich, Texas Auburn, USCw, Florida and plenty of other blue bloods, all have crappy seasons somewhere in the last 6 years playing in easy conferences, but the previous coach in the toughest division, not?
Consistency may have been his greatest asset. Certainly, no one not named Saban , which leaves 12 other coaches, didnt do it in this conference.
Its a strong argument, how can it not be? These teams were playing nobody and couldnt win 8 much less 10. I count Mcneese a win, and anyone with half a brain would concede this.

One of the characteristics of a good coach, is being able to win, when when you dont have the best team or QB, isnt it?
Or why wouldnt every team just find a great recruiter or great business salesman and put him in charge?
