Found this chart on a Kentucky website. LSU is in the middle of the pack on prices.

Could these figures be right? It shows that for 9 out of 12 SEC schools (2008 prices n/a for aTm & Mizzou), including LSU, prices have gone DOWN, not up....some just a little, some quite a bit. ?????

Nope, as a Saints season ticket holder I find great value in the LSU season ticket prices.

And you sit in the upper deck at tiger stadium then sit in the Lower level or endzone in the dome ?? What's your point?? tell us sections or just dont compare.

My guess is this is due to differing number of HOME GAMES per year. With the "Tradition Fund" staying about equal, the number of games would affect the AVERAGE price.

Read what the chart says before commenting:

These prices are for the CHEAPEST (minimum) seat to attended a game at these venues. So no Tradition fee is involved. (nose bleed seats at LSU)

It is an arms race.... It isn't like margins aren't reinvested into our sports programs.

It looks as though people who have done the research have found we are not overpriced relative to other top 25 programs.

Based on personal experience, Texans season tickets, I would be surprised if Saints season tickets weren't cheaper than similar LSU season tickets.

If they are selling out, they are not overpriced.

But, amazingly, you can't resell most tickets for close to that on game day ..

The only determination for "overpriced" is what the market demands. If they are still being sold in record numbers (which they are) then they are not overpriced. When you have 15,000 to 20,000 unsold tickets every game then you know they are overpriced.

Maybe LSU will continue to see a ton of season tickets but there will only be more and more empty seats. Lots of fans staying home to enjoy their own food, beer and bathrooms with the HDTV. Eventually this will show up in tickets sold.

LSU is doing this to itself by expanding the stadium and having the shitty OOC games.

I know of two families so far that are not renewing their tickets and opting to buy per game. it's obvious they will save money but still attend the games they want to. The secondary market bears this out.

It's not so much the price of individual game tickets as it is LSU pricing a lot of people away from the game day experience ...

People can't even get close to the printed price on their tickets on game day, let alone the per game TAF fees that jack the actual cost of some seats up almost 4X the price ... So the conversation should be more about value and worth ..

I would think I'd rather spend that money and go to a Saints game at this point since they're about the same retail price.

back in the day when i was in my 30's i had season tickets to BOTH the tigers and the saints and paid less than $150 per year ($300 for two). the seats weren't bad either, esp at the dome.

imo, tickets for ALL football and baseball sporting events are too high and i now just buy for certain games (started when i lived in La.). but, going to pro and LSU events are a persons hobby and it's still cheaper than fishing, hunting, golf, etc

No point to have season tickets unless you live within reasonable traveling distance for games

That being said, I have my season ticket and might make trip 4 times from Houston next season....might..

And even then, with minimal effort, you can go to every home game in a season for $150 total or less and sit next to people that dropped close to $200 PER game for the same seats ..

I had made the decision given next years awful home schedule and that if they raised prices I was giving up my tickets..They must have heard me, one of the few whose tickets are not going up.

For the upcoming home schedule I think they are. The problem is because of the way tickets are handled it pays to hold them for 10+ years even if you never go to a game waiting for good schedules and when the team is on an upswing instead of dumping them.

Our family held them all during the 90's and attended very few games but if we didn't we still would be trying to work our way closer to the field now.
