fify but you are pretty much correct
BTW I like this avatar better than the "Evil Obama" one you had. You were that guy, right?

For the home schedule LSU has next season?
Absolutely.
NOT interested in the Towsons, UAB's, Kent.State's and Idaho's of the world and will not pay good money to see those kind of teams. Not worth it any longer. Will be there when there's enough bang for the buck according to my set of standards. There's alway tickets for sale outside the stadium no matter how big the game.
Besides, the game atmosphere has deteriorated to such a point that I don't get much of a charge any longer except for the big SEC night games. (And I've been attending games since the 60's, so I have A LOT of comparing and contrasting TS crowd intensity under my belt.)
"The thrill is gone Baby, the thrill has gone away", so there is really no need for season tickets.

I said that after last season. I have plenty of money but I don't feel like 3 hours of hard seats and crappy tron, let alone the frustration of the games is a good value. Forget taking the family. No thank you.

Just my opinion but you should have never given up your parking pass, you could have sold it every year for more than you paid. The same goes for your tickets.

Tiger fans it could be worse..... Check out the price of Aggie tickets and you might feel a little better.....one reason tailgating has grown so much around Kyle Field.... We can't afford to bring the family anymore!

Oil Field success props up LA corporate success, propping up LSU ticket prices.

Absolutely not. I do appreciate my tax deductions.

So you can write off the The associated fees? Not the ticket purchase correct?

Data point of one. Just because CajunRevolution thinks they are too expensive doesn't mean shite. Supply outstrips demand therefore they are not priced too high.

If a troll falls on the Rant and everyone is around to hear it, what does it sound like?
Anger.

I wonder if Bama fans have issues paying out of the arse for tickets when their regular season schedule may consist of maybe two ranked teams all year, one of which they will most likely lose at home.
I would be they don't.

You can't have a successful program these days without money. High ticket prices, tv contracts that don't favor night games, etc., are all part of the necessary evil to keep up with other schools. These issues are not unique to LSU.
For me, it's pretty simple. I'm an alum and love all things LSU. I pay the outrageous prices, donate to TAF and the Alumni Assoc because I feel like it is my responsibility as an alum to help make LSU the best it can be.
Unfortunately, LSU doesn't have a large pool of wealthy donors. Raising ticket prices is one of the few options we have to compete at a high level. Money has to come from somewhere.
Yes you can, These prices are outta control. What's next Gold plated Helmets ? Or Hot tubs in the dorms ?
FSU is playing for a BSC Title.
Below explains there Donation and ticket pricing:
-FSU Football-
Football Ticket Priority
Collegiate athletics programs like Florida State depend upon private donations to help balance their athletics budget. Like many collegiate athletics programs, who use tickets and parking as an incentive for membership contributions, FSU has established a ticket priority policy to allocate football and basketball tickets as fairly as possible.
Doak Campbell Stadium and the Tucker Center are divided into priority and non-priority areas. Tickets in the priority areas are reserved for those fans who help fund more than $14 million in scholarships and operational costs of the Athletics budget by making tax-deductible contributions to Seminole Boosters, the fundraising arm of Florida State Athletics.
Our football stadium is sectioned into four seating zones: Priority 1, 2, 3 and 4. While the ticket priority policy does require a membership contribution for seats in Priority 1, 2 and 3, it does not require a membership contribution in the Priority 4 sections.
A minimum contribution of Iron Arrow ($60 per year) is required in Priority 3 with no ticket limits. A minimum contribution is required in the Priority 1 and 2 areas of the stadium based on the number of seats purchased. Those contribution levels are:
Doak Campbell Stadium Priority Seating
Booster Level Donation Priority Limits
Iron Arrow/Brave
$60/$135 Unlimited in Priority 3
Renegade $300
2 seats in Priority 2
Warrior $600
4 Priority seats, up to 2 in P1
Tomahawk $1,200
6 Priority seats, up to 4 in P1
Silver Chief $3,000
10 Priority seats, up to 6 in P1
Golden Chief $6,000
16 Priority seats, up to 10 in P1
Platinum Golden Chief $12,000
24 Priority seats, up to 16 in P1
Legacy Golden Chief $25,000
24 Priority seats, up to 16 in P1
Seem to me a lot more fair then what LSU is doing to us. Everyone who donates atleast $600 a year can get 4 seats and 2 of those can be in Priority 1 (between the 30's)
at LSU, 1 ticket in those seats are between $975 - $1025 Tradition Fee PLUS the cost of the ticket.

quote:Yep, wouldn't like the quality of the program to slip down to that SEC West #4 position from the current SECW3 and degrade from Chicken/Steak Bowls to the Independence in S'Port. Just give up your season tickets and go to the games you're really interested in because there are always tickets available outside the stadium for face or less regardless of how big the game is. Don't let LSU continue to force you into paying megabucks for games with Idaho, Towson, UAB, Kent.State, North Texas and the various other out of state, out of conference football Sisters of the Poor. (While the prime OOC games are moved to the frickin state of TEXAS)
Ticket prices will never go down, unless you want the quality of the program to suffer dramatically.
