They've been overpriced for years now. Penis envy keeps a bunch of folks on the till . Personally I use mine as a reward to my customers and go to any game I choose by buying some of the hundreds available for purchase for those said games.

Excuse me, but the ticket face price is fair... But (Tradition Fees) are outta control. The west and east sideline (100,106,300,306) is way outta wack in price. $925 , that's just $100 dollars cheaper then mid field tickets??

This is actually a simple question to answer. I can answer it with a question.
Are they selling out the stadium? If the answer is "yes" then the answer to your question is "no".

So, the answer is "yes", since they aren't selling out the stadium ..

Ticket prices are no different than the price of any other product. If I can sell virtually 100% of my product at a particular price, then I'm selling it for that. More if possible!!!

Sure seems like to me every Body sure wants to stay at the tailgate then to go to the ball game. Even with the option of free tickets. The The surprise is coming For The LSU administration.

I haven't read the whole thread so if some of this was already posted, you are a smart guy too!
Unfortunately, the '14 home schedule is a shitshow. Bama comes in but some of the other games don't offset ULM, etc. I hope that gets fixed in the future.
I do wonder what effect the future SEC Network revenue will have on ticket prices. Currently, each school's take of the SEC pot is over $20 Mil. I have heard estimates that could increase by a multiple of 3-5 in the next few years. You would think ticket prices would not need to increase due to that.
Interested to hear other's take...

seems to me like you are much better off just buying in the secondary market for lsu games. most of the games tickets will be dirt cheap because of the competition or kickoff time. I am sure this isnt just an LSU problem, since most college schedules are 80% cupcakes.
demand for saints tickets has done well for me. I made $3k this year on resales and only missed 2 games. I routinely sell tickets for 2-3 times face and more often than not sell them for 4-6 times face. My guess is that the higher level of competition week to week and the saints success since 06 keeps prices up.

Yes , that SEC network is just icing on the Cake, (FREE ICING at that)
Just stick it to the fans , they are suckers , they'll pay more. Even when a increase is not needed.

I agree with the point your making. LSU needs a Reality pill. Those are the actions that are ruining the Atmosphere at Tiger Stadium. Plus making the true Hard core fan a thing of the past.

I am presuming when season tickets are discussed we are including the related TAF 'donation,' i.e. the total 'price' of a ticket.
It borders the ridiculous, but the TAF 'donation' is tax-deductible... right?
DO THE RESEARCH - LSU is NOT expensive OR overpriced relative to prominent SEC or national programs we consider our peers.
It might be semantics but... expensive? debatable... overpriced? no...

When was the last time your company (or the company you work for) lowered their prices?
Have you seen restaurant, movie or grocery prices go down?

People who compare by saying "look what other SEC schools are charging" miss that Louisiana is maybe the poorest state in the country. Comparing it to Florida/South Carolina/Tennessee/Kentucky/Texas/Arkansas/Alabama, we are at the bottom. (Except for Mississippi. It's us or them.)

No one is forcing anyone to buy any tickets.

How people can afford to pay those prices then leave early is beyond me.

I would not say tickets are "over priced" because that can mean different things to different people. However, I do belive that the market for LSU tix (and other top college teams) could be headed for a fall. First, the real pricing for season tix has a significant Tradition Fee component. Then you have a large after market that is pretty easily accessed via the internet and offers low-priced tickets for most of the games. Finally, you have all of the games televised and in high def. The decision not to renew season tix is a big one, so I doubt it will happen any time soon, but I look for season tix sales to begin to stagnate and then fall off in, say, 10-15 years as I don't think the younger, replacement buyers are going to be there.

The real issue is that you are paying a premium for what basically amounts to preseason games. 4 of the 7 home games are pretty much useless to attend.
Thats why I say you are better off just buying tickets in the secondary market for the 2-3 good games a year and then if you want to attend the other games, go look for someone giving them away the day of the game.
The onyl way to make it better is to schedule beter OOC games, but then you put your season at risk if you lose.
2014 schedule looks just as bad. 1 decent game and 2 good games. Then there is a possibility that you get to cook for the miss state game if it is an early game.
