In BR, I am having a hard time thinking of a better grilled shrimp poboy than at Goodwood Grill. Seriously, if you havent tried it... its awesome.

I heard good things about Pop's. They opened shortly after I moved away from Lafayette though. I could wreck a shrimp po boy from Old Tyme though.

I think Parkway makes the best in the state, but I haven't tried Bevi yet.

In Baton Rouge I like George's although I understand a lot of the hate for the place is deserved.

Pop's in Lafayette.

Old Tyme Grocery in Lafayette makes a mean one.

Ketchup on a seafood poboy is a no-go for me.

Old time grocery shrimp Poboy is crap. There, I said it. The Popeyes shrimp Poboy is better than theirs.

My personal favorite is Cajun catfish houses in Pineville or Faustos in kinder.

I agree that Olde Tyme is very good. The best in Baton Rouge was Off The Hook.

For those recommending Pop's in Lafayette, I've never been. Usually when I'm on that side of town, I'll favor Olde Tyme, Cedar Deli, and Taco Sisters. I'll have to try Pop's.

I looked at their menu and all I'm seeing in the form of a shrimp poboy is the Banh Banh, and I'm assuming it's a reference to the Vietnamese Banh Mi with mayo, carrots, cucumber, cilantro. Is this what everyone is recommending?

No, just no. Lafayette doesn't have the best po boys in the state. IMO, pops has the best fried shrimp po boy in Lafayette.
Zydeco poboy has the best shrimp poboy with their shrimp Remoulade.

So they do have a fried shrimp poboy. All I saw on the menu was a grilled banh.

Their fried shrimp is called something goofy like "flakely" or something/. It's not breath taking, but good for Lafayette.

ETA its called "crispy"

I like the shrimp/Swiss/RB gravy at Domilises

The fried bacon-wrapped shrimp at Griffins in Houma is also legit

Although I will say that I've had shrimp poboys from a couple of gas stations that can compete with almost any restaurant I can think of.

Danny and Clydes for a gas station will do in a pinch.
