My brother is driving from Texas to New Orleans along I-10 tomorrow and he wanted a suggestion for a good place to stop for fresh boudin along I-10, without going far off the interstate.

Any good gas stations to hit (I'd assume in the Lafayette area).

Thanks in advance!

Best Stop in Scott is good and easy to get to right off the interstate.

The pepper jack boudin balls and pepper jack boudin wraps at Billy's really can't be missed.

Damn good cracklings, but boudin overrated for all the love it gets, IMO.

Rabideauxs regular sausage is awesome too.

I like best stop and I'm from Acadia parish if that means anything. That being said the little joint north of I-10 at the Henderson exit isn't bad either. Prolly a touch more liver, think it's Hebert's. They have Tasso poboys too.

If you want fire in the arse jam stuffed into a casing and called boudin then get dons. Billys is good, but frick that line.
Beststop has their own andouille (keep stocked in my freezer) and pretty good Tasso as well. They also have some good brisket, deer and steens fresh sausage.

Exit 97. South 1/8th a mile. Placed called billys. Get balls with pepper jack cheese, egg rolls with pepper jack cheese, 5 pounds of smoked boudin.

You don't fool us, Hebert.

I used to stop at that place in Henderson for breakfast cracklins when I worked in Lafayette, but that's only because Scott was past my exit. Billy's is my go-to, but I find myself hitting the Best Stop more lately simply because Billy's can't handle the amount of business they have and frick waiting 45 minutes for cracklins and boudin when there are way too many really good options within five miles.

Johnson's Boucaniere in Lafayette is pretty damned good, too.

Rabideaux's in Iowa is a good place to stop farther West.

If you're willing to get off of I-10 a good bit, Kartchner's in Krotz Springs is solid, as are the Mowata Store in Mowata, Teet's in Ville Platte, and any number of other places between them in Ville Platte and Eunice.

Billy's is great, but I prefer Poche's in Breaux Bridge. Pick up a stuffed beef tongue while you're there

Scott - Best Stop or Billy's. I prefer Best Stop.
