Fair enough. Would you say it's more of a thrash record than Metallica
Certainly.
Countdown to Extinction?
Reluctantly I never got much into Megadeth, so I don't want to comment here. ...
Was it here that someone said they called Discover and asked for the double cash back promotion o ntheir prior existing card? If so, what did you say and was it easy? I'd love that
Yeah, I communicated with them via email/chat and they enrolled me. Easy peasy....

re: Top 5 thrash albums - TigeRoots
What else would you classify it as?
Not trying to split hairs, but I just don't get the uptempo thrash feeling as a whole with the album. Thrash elements for sure. To each his own, just my opinion....
Pantera has elements of thrash for sure. Listening to RISE and Psycho Holiday affirm that.
I'm with you on that. CFH is mostly thrash IMO. ...

re: Top 5 thrash albums - TigeRoots
There were only two other kids in my whole school who were into that kind of music. Even when I went to college, there was no one I met at LSU that was into that kind of stuff. Hell, there were more people in Lafayette into thrash than in the Baton Rouge area.
Sounds eerily famil...

re: Top 5 thrash albums - TigeRoots
Not sure I'd put VDOP in the thrash category, but it's certainly one if my favorite albums of all times. On second thought, I don't know if I'd classify Seasons in the Abyss as thrash either. Maybe now I'm just being a snob (which I hate). Haha ...

re: Top 5 thrash albums - TigeRoots
Other than the big hitters like Reign in Blood and the Metallica... what would be the one quintessential thrash album I MUST LISTEN TOO? TIA
I'd vote one of the mentioned Sepultura albums, Arise or Beneath the Remains. Although I'm partial to Sepultura (hence my user name)....

Seasons and Reign in Blood are very close in my opinion. I could flip flop them every other day. Any Sepultura fans enjoy Nailbomb?...
I just watched a documentary from 2006 on Netflix called Get Thrashed, about the history of thrash metal. You owe it to yourself to watch it if you haven't already. It was pretty damn cool
I will definitely check this out. I've never noticed it, or I would have watched it long ago....

re: Stoner Metal/Sludge/Post-metal/Blues Rock/Psychedelia - TigeRoots
Yep, they are solid. Hard for me to find bands that are current/active that I enjoy. I'm old school thrash/metal for the most part. Jamming old Exodus now!...

I too, am enjoying this thread. Any of you into the band Mothership? I was turned on to them recently. Mothership - "II" is a very good hard rock/sludge ish album. They are based out of Dallas. ...

re: Stoner Metal/Sludge/Post-metal/Blues Rock/Psychedelia - TigeRoots
I'd say 90%. A friend of mine talks to Buckley from Crowbar pretty regularly and he mentioned it. I'd say still go to the Varsity show if you can. If nothing else, to show support for the band and the BR scene....
I thought they only sold week end passes the last few years.
I gotcha. I didn't know that. I've always gotten weekend passes for the most part. Years ago they did day passes, but it may have changed. I'd pay to see The Cult (seen before), Clutch, Ozzy (I guess, seen before) & M...
