Red's Chinese is the best one, albeit hidden in a building with no sign.

Just suspend any feelings you have about the kitchen staff practicing any semblance of hygene, and its good.

I went to Kin for lunch last week and found it very pedestrian. The only flavor sand box they were playing in was umami. Not much salt, no acid, no spice.

The noodles in the ramen were clumped together, the braised short ribs in a dol sot bibimbop were a congealead, cold mess. Im not giving up on them.by anwans, but it was a real bummer.

Unfortunate because when I had this it was great. Had The Nest last Saturday for lunch and it was really great.

Little Chinatown is my pick. It just tastes fresher and not generic like the rest of the places.

Jung's yellow menu is pretty good and they have Sichuan dishes. The spicy eggplant is especially delicious.

Red's is good too. General Lee's chicken (RIP) and the scallion noodles are top notch.

Yeah, overall it sort of sucks

I wouldn't go that far that it sucks.

Little Chinatown in Kenner is the best I've had. I admit I have never been to Jung's

I second or third this. We've been going here for 15+ years. The dim sum is way better than the one at Panda King, but more expensive.

If you have a big group to eat, you can try asking Mrs Shirley if they will do a special menu for you. I brought her jumbo shrimp, lobsters, clams, red fish and abalone. One of the best make I've ever had in the States. She wouldn't charge us, because I provider the proteins. My dad has also been her mechanic for as long as we've been going there. but if you want a really good meal for a group, I'm sure she could accommodate. We left a $250 tip. Great dinner for a family of 8 with 6 boxes of leftovers.

Hong Kong Kitchen in Harahan is excellent. In a strip mall behind the Shell station on Dock. NO atmosphere and very few tables, mostly takeout. But the place is always clean, and the food is always fresh and very tasty.

oh yeah, check out the Yelp reviews.

And the food is always hot as hell (temp wise). You can order, let it sit out overnight and it would still be hot.

Red's Chinese FTW. Kim Son, 9 roses on the wank have some good Chinese dishes.

Anyone ever been to China Rose in Metry? The Chinese menu looks exciting but I've yet to find adventurous eaters to go with me.

I'll go with you. I had real sichuan food in Houston recently at Mala Sichuan and I haven't been the same since. Have been seriously considering driving to houston for a weekend to eat there multiple times. The crispy spicy chicken, dan dan noodles, and red oil dumplings were the best chinese dishes I've ever had.

If china rose is half as good as mala, I will be going there weekly.
