Hard question, but my as one who grew up raising cattle, beef is the only answer.

Hard to say Oats. Love beef, but not much better than well prepared fish.

Maybe Crappie. Only once in my life have I had my fill of them.

And if you have ever enjoyed well fried bream fillets...Heaven.

If seafood is an acceptable answer (and I don't have to pick just one), then that's my choice... But that's not really fair, is it?

If I had to choose my favorite meat, I'd agree with beef. However, pork is definitely more versatile.

All things being even, and the proteins in question cooked properly and tasty, I'm going seafood.

Agree, but that's a total cop out. I don't know that I could even pick one aquatic critter that I prefer more than any other. I'd say crab, but I'd get burnt out on that if I were forced to eat just that.

I guess the correct answer is beef. So many different cuts, each with their own character and ideal use, it's so tremendous. Definitely prefer it to pork, and I really enjoy pork.

Really good raw oysters. Skip the horseradish and other BS. Eat the sea.

A very hard question indeed and could be approached from different angles.

For instance, if my doctor informed me I had to give up one particular protein, I would be devastated if it were beef.

If I had to pick one protein to live on for the rest of my life, it may either be chicken or fish.

If it's my singular favorite bite of food, foie gras, uni, ikura and scallop are way up there, but nothing beats a nice chunk of crab (snow, king or kona) dipped into ghee. I couldn't live off of it, but a bite of crab is sheer bliss for me.

In Europe, especially France lemon juice squeezed on an oyster is the the only additive allowed.

Nothing against the OP, but does anyone else cringe when foodie shows and restaurant menus overuse the word "protein"?

It reminds me of chemistry class... not a good steak or piece of fish.

Beef, but a really well prepared fish is a close second.

Nope. It's a term used very often in restaurants.

86 cringing.
