Cabbage soup. Mom used to call it diet soup.

I had most of a head of cabbage leftover from New Year's Day because I ended up slicing up just enough to have one small side of slaw so that I could have my bases covered for luck. I had a ham hock leftover from the dried black eyes I did not make (made Texas caviar, instead). I had some mushrooms, red and yellow peppers and some Guidry's fresh cuts that needed using. I had one link of leftover grilled Rabideaux's smoked sausage. One 28 oz can of San Marzano's and two 32 oz boxes of prepared chicken stock.

tl;dr;don't care

Making my lentil, spinach and chicken sausage soup. Drinking a little cotes-du-rhone.
Almost done.

That sounds much better than cabbage soup!

I might add some leftover boiled crawfish tails to my bowl of soup.

Thanks, Darla!
It's a really great winter soup recipe I found on food52. Really easy but delicious.

Sounds good to me with a side of cornbread.

I wanted soup, but I've had gumbo for the past several nights bypassing steak and veggies that need to be cooked.
