Alright, curious about what you guys and gals think about these characters. BBQ Pit Boys LINK / LINK
I watch some of their videos when I have absolutely nothing to do(actually there's ALWAYS something better to do but out of curiosity I sometimes watch them). Not really crazy about them with their thumbs up and nods of approval muteness.
Are you a fan?

I think it's a smart move on their part to narrate after the video is shot. Unless you're a food network star, it can be difficult and awkward to narrate the entire video live. I find myself watching their vids.
ETA: also especially since outdoor audio can be very shoddy.

My neighbor uses their recipes and gets good results.
I have a hard time watching the videos. The pantomiming of the cooks and the gruff-voice announcer get on my nerves. They also could edit them down to much shorter. If I watch one, I constantly skip ahead.

"How to bbq right" with malcolm Jenkins is pretty good.

The biker/outdoors/super manly shite is cringey almost to the point of satire. "Yeah, nothin' better than a big ol' ribeye. Yeaaahhhh."
Why not cook it in the bed of your F250 King Ranch Super Duty with a pair of AR 15s crossed in the background? Better butch it up Betty, we wouldn't want anyone thinking you're a **** that eats quinoa and goat cheese.

It's goooooooood Martha!
They come up with some artery blocking conceptions and some look awful! It's their schtick.

I’ve seen a few. I liked them enough to watch. The beer can stuffed burgers looked good

I get a lot of my ideas from Malcolm. He does know what he is doing.

Me too, I'm trying his bacon burnt ends today on the Yoder. They looked great when he cooked them, I had to try them.

It’s actually Malcom Reed, for those of you interested in looking him up.

Just got some of Malcolm’s regular rub and hot rub. Can’t wait to try it on some ribs on Monday. He is by far and away my favorite YouTube cooking channel. I love how he shows you how to do both competition and backyard styles, and how to do them on different types of grills. For anyone interested, he also has an app with all of his recipes.

"HowToBBQRight" is 100x a better channel than "BBQ Pit Boys"
BBQ Pit Boys is mostly garbage.

Malcom is great. His channel is the best BBQ channel that I have found on YouTube. I made his pork belly burnt ends today while smoking some ribs. I will finish them them with the braising liquid and glaze tomorrow.

This is my main criticism of (most?) YouTube cooking vids. Too long, needing tighter editing and more focused content. You see this in home repair and how to videos as well. Is there something in the YouTube algorithm that preferences slightly longer videos? I’m always watching some 3 minute schtick of How To Change Widget X that has about 45 secs of relevant info.
