It's been awhile since I had their 60 or 90 minute, but I don't remember them being THAT malty.

They're some of the most overhyped beers around.

I agree that they're overhyped. I just don't remember them being that malty.

I know that people have been visiting with these guys recently. Clearly Nora who wrote the article but then the Beer Buddha met them last week. So maybe they were just in town for a few days.

End of year may be unlikely, but they appear to have been trying to get this going for almost a year now. An update is provide periodically on their blog, Hopfoolery.

I don't know if they are over hyped as much as they are not the style of IPA/DIPA that hop heads are looking for these days.

It's easy to forget that for the longest time 90 min IPA was the only year round DIPA available to everyone east of Colorado.

Hell, I still like the 60 and I have a 90 in Jackson that I need to re-visit.

Ehhh. They don't suck. Some of their beers are really solid. Their flagship IPAs have just been overtaken by other examples of the style.

And like I said, still don't remember them being THAT malty.

Who said they suck? I just said they were overhyped.

And as far as the "now" part of your comment.. here's a thread from almost 2 years ago where more than one person has not so wonderful things to say about DFH.

who is "hyping" them? "Overhyped" is just a passive-aggressive way of saying "I don't like them"

Your link is to a thread where you were the only one that said you are not a fan of the DFH IPAs

The majority of the opinions I see there are in favor of DFH beers

the 90 minute has a 95/97 rating on BA

Esquire magazine called it the best IPA in America

there are forums dedicated to cloning it

I don't think they're awful. But I've had dozens of IPAs I like better. perhaps just a personal preference thing.

I got a got more positive things than negative out of that. You were the only person saying they weren't any good.

Well that's quite a selective reading of the thread. What I said was I wasn't a fan of their IPAs, not that they "weren't any good."

And I found Boo's summation of their lineup to be a honest and fair assessment of their highlights as well as shortcomings.

that means a shite load of people like it. Still, not seeing any "hyping" of it

well, I disagree with them, but that's like, their opinion, man. I guess that's "hyping" it?

so? There are forums dedicated to cloning HUNDREDS of beers

fair enough. I've got to stop taking the use of the word "overhyped" as "they suck". See also: the great Pliny The Elder debate
