re: Good reasonable A/C service needed Asap - Fratastic423
Does that include parts & labor?
Yes it does. I am unsure about the specifics of the replacement, but it is for 1 of the 2 units of my house. Probably servicing about 1200 sq ft. I am going back and forth with Entergy about getting enough power to my house. The voltage keeps...

re: Good reasonable A/C service needed Asap - Fratastic423
One of my units just died as well. Its an older unit so it was suggested that I switch out the coil/Freon to new Freon. Was quoted 1600 for the unit and another 1600 for the coil inside the house. Reasonable? Edit: I was told I could have it replaced tomorrow. ...

Depending in how much weight you lost, you may be out of luck. I lost about 20 lbs and the tailor laughed at me trying to get my suits altered. Nothing he could do about them ...

re: Mike & Mike bashing LSU for Simmons-centric marketing campaign - Fratastic423
They should guarantee them 4 years at the university no matter what and if they aren't good enough to be on the team, then that scholarship doesn't count towards your total that's allotted by NCAA. If they did that, and ensured that they would take care of medical for any injury suffered duri...

re: House denies colleges tuition-setting authority (again). - Fratastic423
TOPS was also seen as a way to cut down on the "brain drain", which is that a significant portion of the best and the brightest have been leaving Louisiana for educational and employment opportunities elsewhere. TOPS was instituted as a mechanism for Louisiana to retain it's own students,...
But what if a student who has rich family but is given none of his family's money wants to go to college using TOPS?
Are lower income students more intelligent and all they need is a chance?
I think that finances hinder some students from being successful in college. So if we are cutting the amount of money dished out to all students, it has a much greater impact on those who were struggling wit...
What's better?
I personally think it should move to the sliding scale need based award. Which we have been discussing may or may not be the most popular thing.
f my tax dollars help fund TOPS, why should my child not benefit just because I'm successful?
This...
Which is why it needs to remain an equal award across all socioeconomic backgrounds.
And the program will stay equal in the end IMO, even though I don't think that is the best option. It is so ingrained in the education philosophy of LA that it isn't going to turn into a need base...
How could you possibly decide who should and shouldn't pay it back?
Not what I meant, sorry for the convoluted statement. I was saying that if it was a loan process, you are potentially making a situation worse on a segment of the population who try and use TOPS to better their li...
Again, how do you know what kind of money the kid has access to? My parents make a lot of money. They are also not great with their money, so their high income was of little help to me personally. I needed TOPS to pay for school just as much as anyone else did. I can guarantee I was not t...
