Dumb question
Adding Tuna Fish to salad was appropriate I believe.
But for my breakfast would this be a good source of protein also....
6 oz serving of Vanilla Yogurt (using Great Value) as was decent taste to me and cheap.
cup of frozen strawberry
1/2 cup of Unsweetened Almond Milk
That along with the tuna should assist in my protein correct?

The yogurt is likely loaded with sugar.. you should use plain if you can take it.
You need some healthy fats in your diet, too. Try using plain whole milk greek yogurt or cottage cheese in place of the sugar-laden flavored yogurt. You can add a bit of honey to add some sweetness, but be sparing.. honey is still sugar.
What sorts of salad dressing are you using on your salads?

So I wasted my money?
Damn it. I just want to cut my weight. I forgot about sugars. I was paying attention to fat.

breakfast... dump the yogurt. Scramble you some egg whites. High protein, low calories, keeps you full

It's all a learning process. Don't beat yourself up.
I wouldn't call it 'wasting money'.. you can eat it and lose weight, but it's not the best for you.

Remember, everyone has their own preferences. When starting out, the best thing you can do is follow the K.I.S.S method.. Keep It Simple, Stupid. Don't overthink it. There's tons of information out there and lots of stuff you can implement into your diet when you're ready, but when starting out it can be information overload.. especially in a thread like this where there are multiple people giving their input. Bottom line, keep it simple and stay in a caloric deficit.
If you prefer yogurt and fruit in the morning over eggs/egg whites, then eat that. That doesn't have to be all you eat, though. You can have eggs, or yogurt, or cottage cheese, or all of it if you want. The most important thing to losing weight is tracking what you're eating and avoiding sugar. There are lots of tricks to optimize muscle retention and speed up weight loss, but ultimately what matters at the bottom line is adherence. Take it from me, I have trouble with adherence and I keep losing the same 10-15 pounds.. do whatever you prefer to do that will keep you in a steady caloric deficit. You will lose weight.

Last week I lost 7.25 lbs as my first weigh in was from Mar 1 to yesterday.
I was advised by yall to add protein so I thought using yogurt in my smoothie and adding tuna to my salads are smart.
I am not hungry today after drinking my smoothie, which is a first. Usually by now I would have had 2 bananas and 2 or 3 halos/cuties. But I have drank about 40 oz of water. I drink a lot of water lately though, purposefully.
As for my salads at night yes the dressing I use has calories but considering what I was eating for dinners and the amount of coke I was drinking I can add some of that calories.

look into waldean farms dressing. No calories, no sugars, no carbs. And taste really good.

Are you tracking your food in an app like MyFitnessPal?
Good. I'm not going to argue that bananas and cuties/halos are unhealthy in moderation, but they should be eaten sparingly as they do have a lot of sugar and not much fiber. You'd be better served eating berries, particularly raspberries and blackberries. They are low in sugar, high in fiber.
Your diet should be high in protein.. that is almost universally accepted nowadays. If you want to ditch carbs, you need to then increase fats. You do this by eating high-fat stuff like whole milk cottage cheese, high fat salad dressings like vinaigrettes, high fat meats.
I don't advise you do a low-fat diet. You should be getting at least 30% of your daily calories from fat if you are eating carbs as well. If you aren't eating carbs, then 60-70% of your daily calorie intake should come from fat. My favorite ratio is 40% protein, 30% fat, 30% carb.

Sadly, carbs on carbs on carbs. I've back home today, and need to hit the Lenten pain-train hard.

You are asking questions and trying to learn - nobody will fault you for that.

Bananas/Halos
Sugar - Half of a banana won't be too bad and will provide some nutrients. Neither of these have much fiber to offset the sugar intake, however.

Nutri-Grain Bar
Sugar marketed as healthy

I realize you're on a challenge to eat salad, but that doesn't mean that your calories need to be so low. You're falling into the trap that many, many people do because many things that are advertised as healthy simply are not. Bananas/Halos and nutrigrain bars aren't giving your body all that it needs and is not sustainable. You need protein and fat, and to cut back the sugar. You need to cook most of your food at home and bring it to work.
It's hard to know how much you should be eating, but this should get you through the day satisfied and healthily. A 'balanced' diet should look more like:
Breakfast:
2 eggs, 2 strips bacon, 1 serving steel cut oats (don't go for the flavored stuff.. again, sugar) with cinnamon - ~350-400 cals
Lunch:
6oz/168g chicken thigh w/salsa, 100g sweet potato, veggie side - ~500 cals
Dinner:
Your salad - ~500 cals.
If you are not hungry between meals (I'm typically not), don't eat. If you find yourself hungry, drink a bunch of water and eat a cup of raspberries or blackberries.
This is all just advice. It's a lot to take in and a lot to learn whenever you're just starting. I will reiterate that I highly recommend using a tracker like MFP to get you going.

not sure what you are shooting for, but eating yogurt and cottage cheese isnt enough protein. if you are trying to lose weight on a scale you may do it.... if you want to look good with your shirt off, you wont be doing it this way.
