Upperline offers a three or four course meal for around $40. Given the quality of the food, I would say that it's a good bargain

ORLY! I'll have to look into this

Commanders is the best value in the city. It is not expensive. You both can eat there and have a great meal for less than many many other places in the city. Id bet that yall both could eat there for $50 ..

Upperline's 3 course meal is also a good bargain. I like the food better there, but the atmosphere and location of Muriel's more.

There are many fine restaurants from which to choose, but the 3 course fair priced menus are not so prevalent for the OP's request and price point.

Commanders has a price fixed menu at about 38. It is great sand includes their signature stuff like turtld soup and bread pudding. I think the bread pudding is $5 more, but you have several options for all three courses.

These are what I consider midrange in
Downtown/FQ/Frenchmen that I eat periodically:
Cochon,
Domenica,
Rio Mar,
Luke,
Borgne,
Sobou,
Bon Ton's Cafe(weekday only)
Adolfo's

Regenilli's pizza oh I wanna eat ya.

If a restaurant takes reservations you should always make one.

Love Boucherie. Good call going on a Tuesday. It can be tough to get a table there for dinner.

I love a good mid-week dinner. Smaller crowds and more relaxed service.

How much truth is there to the theory that Monday and Tuesday are bads days to dine out because the product isn't fresh, but rather is leftover from the weekend?

Really? That was one of the places I was interested in. How hard would it be then to get a table for 2 for next saturday night? Around 6ish.

6 might not be too tough, but later than that and it may be a chore. it's a very very small restaurant.
