Morning All,

Going to Mikimoto Saturday...has anyone ever tried this thing below?

"Titanic Deluxe Dinner (for two) - Sushi, Sashimi, Rolls, Tempura, Chicken Teriyaki and Fresh Fruit"

If I should just stick with rolls or sashimi, please recommend some - 'preciate it!

Haven't been there in a few years, but it was good and a good value when we were there. We just ordered what we like, which was a ton of sashimi and nigiri, along with a few rolls.

Never tried that, but have been to Mikimoto before.. Mr. Cat loves it and my landlord is the manager there

Stick with the rolls. Crescent city roll is awesome!

People generally say this when the sushi isn't the freshest. I don't believe that is the case here.

Absolutely. Stumbled upon this last year as I was just randomly picking odd things off the menu. It's a must at any place that carries it.

Going to Horinoya for Valentine's Day...still undecided about ordering that one after I saw a picture of a monkfish.

But I'm sure we'll have a bunch of great stuff if I skip that one.

don't get me wrong.. I've tried several things off their menu, but I don't know how much of a sushi lover he is. I know my sister likes sushi but if you put monk fish in front of her she'll hurl. I eat anything... (duhhh that's why I'm like 300 lbs)

I haven't been to Mikimoto in a while. It is time for one of my sushi pig out fests.

quote:

*Mikimoto Roll - Salmon ,shrimp, octopus, crabstick, avocado, egg, and asparagus inside seaweed and rice with spicy roe outside. 11.00

quote:

*Tiger Roll - Mixed spicy tuna and salmon rolled inside seaweed and rice, topped with tuna, salmon, eel and crunchy, pink sauce and bbq sauce drizzled on top the whole roll. 12.50

Those two go well together.

Is this like the foie gras of Japanese cuisine?

I've only had monk fish liver twice, but I actually enjoyed it more than foie gras both times.
