Last thread I was able to find in a quick search was from a few years ago.

How’s it doing now? Atmosphere, drinks & food?

It's good man. We went a few weeks ago. Wife had the tuna and I had the pork chop. Both delicious.

The food is fantastic, but the place is empty practically all the time.

Pretty much this, which is a shame because its a great restaurant. I think its just too big a space for a higher end restaurant at that location.

OP should definitely go though, I've had a great meal every time I've been.

Oddly, the chef that I assumed was an owner (the one that was publicized everywhere, Kelly McCann) moved to Georgia. So I guess whoever took his place is good because the food is still great.

We were there for St. Patrick’s day after the parade and happened to be sitting next to the owner. Had a great conversation with him and his wife. Everything we had that day was great.

I’ve never been. When’s the best time to go? Lunch, dinner, or brunch?

This is one of a few places I’ve been wanting to try, but just haven’t gotten around to it. Eliza is another one that comes to mind that I’ve heard good things about.

Eliza is good too. Either are good for a date night or dinner and drinks but they both have solid lunch specials too.

Went a week or two after opening. Didn’t care for the atmosphere. Not sure why, but it just didn’t work for us. Food was okay, but we’ve never gone back.

I’ll probably give it another try since people have said the food is so good now. But likely won’t be in a hurry.

So how is it open? That’s obviously not a sustainable model. Good food and technique costs, so if you aren’t turning tables, that’s losing money.

Went last Saturday at prime dinner time and it was 1/3 full. Not sure how they are staying open. Food was good, drinks were good. Service was OK I guess. They had wait staff available but the bartender came from behind the bar to be our server. Which was weird. He started the meal by warning us that he might be delayed because he had to make drinks.

Last time we went, the server must have gotten his section confused because we had to go get the hostess. But he couldn’t have been more apologetic once he realized we were his and management insisted on covering the first round of drinks.

I hear they’re in the hole for quite a great deal of money, though.

I’ve heard similar regarding the financial state of the restaurant. The times i have gone I enjoyed my meal. Service was acceptable to mediocre.

That layout just does not work for me. It always feels like you’re the only person in the restaurant

Agree. It gets brought up in the "where to eat" conversation a good bit, and we always decide not to because of the atmosphere.

I miss the frick out of Chelsea's.

Last time we went the food was good, service OK but it was so dark we had to use our cell phone flashlites to read the menu...

Tried it for brunch today. Food was good not great. Got the chicken and biscuit. Egg was a little overdone, but was a good meal.

Service was okay. They really need to work on their atmosphere. It doesn’t work. It’s dressed up as a Jubans, but it’s really a Chimes. Just be what you are, serve more beer choices, lower prices a little and take the bougie pictures off the wall.

ETA: Was there for over an hour and only five or so tables of people.

Had dinner there Friday. Tuna entree with soy glaze and roasted corn / carrots was very well executed and satisfying. Roasted tomato soup was great as well. We thought the portion sizes had increased across the board since the early days. Will be back soon

Was it super busy on a Friday?

Curious if this is a place we need to make a reservation or can we easily walk in and get a table

Well since this whole thread confirms they’re always dead, I think you’re good
