Water is free at the Chimes. Just walk out into the hallway, get water, and walk back.

Ninfa's, thank goodness it closed right after that. I did not know it was possible to make fajitas inedible. Even a bad fajita is generally pretty damn good.

It didnt close, they just re-branded.

Went to a concert on Friday. I think it was $2.50 for the water.
Anyway, I get it. They get a lot of underage people in there. Combine that with a lot of music-people being "straight edge" (don't drink), a lot of people opting for drugs and pot, and energetic concerts making people thirsty.. it is probably big source of income for them. I've been to a few music festivals where I basically camp out at the beer booth because I'm one of the only people in the place purchasing alcohol.. but booth with water is slammed because all of the drugged out people need it.

I think so? They threw some tables on the sidewalk for Spanish Town this year with a "limited menu available" sign. And I found a Sept 2015 article (advertising an Oct 2015 opening).
Okay, that's just weird.

Shake Shack. I've been to Shake Shack three times now because people I work with want to go. I just don't like it. I love the idea behind it, but there's just a lack of general flavor. It's all a bit bland. The concrete ice creams are fantastic however.

Hate to admit this one, but Johnny's Po-Boys.
It's been a few years since the last time I went and the food wasn't good at all. While we were eating, we got to watch one worker transfer used ketchup bottles into one until it was full and discarded the empty. Not to stop there, he then used a toothpick as a 'bridge' to transfer partial hot sauce bottles in order to create a full one. Needless to say neither was a sanitary process.

never understood why this place is treated with such respect. It's just gross in there.

The owner of the building (they rent) will not pay for a more powerful AC. It really is not a matter of them being cheap
That is them being cheap. The A/C went out in our office building and guess who had to buy a new system? Hint: not the building owner.

Acme Burger - Way overpriced, very slow service.
You're talking about Acme Taco & Burger? Yeah, that place is terrible. I went for lunch one day, had an app, burger, and a canebrake. I waited 45 minutes for the burger when there wasn't 10 people in the restaurant and my bill was over $30 after tip.

Georges... Don't care for the food
Food tastes ok, but I'd rather not pay $30 for two pieces of fish and three shrimp that they call a combo plate.

Their prices are out of control. It's like $20 for a poboy and fries there.

I guess these threads serve a purpose, but I generally dislike them.

Yeah, it's one place that I would actually like to start a campaign asking people to stop going there.

Why is that? It's pretty easy to separate the legitimate complaints from the petty people.

They wont let you bring drinks in. Even effing water.

Sorry, but I still don't see how this is an excuse. Especially when they are charging $25-$30 for a concert. I'm sure most of that goes to the artist, but you can't tell me they don't receive something per person.

Meh. You don't get tap water at any other concert venue. I understand that because it is a bar/restaurant, it is frustrating, but it isn't very surprising or worthy of me never returning. Like I said, I am sure they sell a ton of water and very little alcohol for certain genres/crowds. When you have a venue with a lot of 18-20 year olds, you have to make money somehow.
Posted on 2/15/16 at 11:33 am to LouisianaLady
Exactly. They are in the concert business. How much do you pay for a water at the Smoothie King Center or River center during an event? If you don't like it, don't buy the water. It's part of the deal.

I agree with everything you said with the exception of BJs. I have not had a bad Po boy there. I strongly agree with T-Coons. The owner is a self righteous arse especially on the water.
