Rebel Yell is my go-to cheap bourbon. Hard to find out in Vegas, though.

Not technically a bourbon, but Early Times is pretty legit for Old-Fashioneds...especially for $14/handle on base.

Funny you post this Gris. It's been getting sparce around home.

I told you this about a long time ago, but you said your CVS was still strong in Charter. I bought the last 6 bottles in this town.

I'm not concerned about the price. I just want something similar. Is Buffalo Trace similar?

It's pretty similar. Buffalo Trace the distillery is Satan's spawn. An evil, vile company founded by Hitler's grandkids and the Manson family. They acquired Old Charter, clipped the handles, cut production of Charter 10, and now can't even keep our shelves full of Charter 8. But they make good bourbon. Buffalo Trace the whiskey is probably closest to Charter.

Can't go wrong with the ole Rich and Rare on the bottom shelf.

I say this in jest.

WL Weller is the best thing I've ever tasted for under $20.

Thank ya....yeah, I don't like Buffalo Trace the distillery. They've created a cluster you know what.

Nice handle, oldcharlie. I can't believe I didn't notice the 8 in your name before and figure that out!

Heard from reliable source on the 4th that no more Charter will be made. None, nada. Source was from Tallulah. Hence the bare Charter shelves in Delta.

I shouldn't have opened my last bottle.

I'd heard something like that over the weekend myself, but the source heard it from elsewhere and I had no idea whether it was reliable.
