Nicky, I'm not saying you're wrong. I've been through New Roads a few times but haven't stayed long enough to gauge it's Charter consumption. But I will say this, New Roads better drink a lot of frickin Old Charter to make that distinction.

Have family members who drive to Sams in Lafayette for 6 cases of handles because it can not be found in at the Wal Mart or the Winn Dixie in New Roads, also have family members who ship a case of Old Charter to their destination of travel just in case there isnt Charter at the liquor store or the bar.
Its the daily drink of the locals, if you see someone with a 20oz foam cup walking around there will be Charter in there.
Even my dog drinks Charter, see pic below

They drive there for handleless handles per the decree laid down by satan and his minions at Buffalo Trace a couple years back. But regardless, I'm gad to know of other fans of a Old Charter

W.L. Weller or Four Roses small batch. They go for around $25-$32. Or Elijah Craig for around $23.
Just saw you said handle..you may have something going here

They hate that and rumor has it that there was a bad batch of barrel(s) so even less Charter to go around, lots of chatter in the town

Old Crow is very passable, it has a very much better taste profile than Jim Beam which is considered by some businesses to be a call brand. 16.00 for a handle of the stuff.

Most mentioned in this thread aren't really considered "cheap"... Eagle rare, Bulleit, Buffalo trace are all wayyyy more expensive than OC8. When I'm looking for something cheap to use for cocktails I stick to Weller reserve, Jim Beam, ancient age, and benchmark.
