I quit smoking a few months ago. Well of course I added some pounds in the process eating all kinds of junk. Now its just a bad habit. I brought a little fridge from home to keep in my office.
Plan on keeping plenty of bottled water and some crystal light packets. Some grapes, oranges, and other fruit. What other healthy snacks would you suggest that curb appetite?
Not a huge nut fan. Don't mind almonds though
TIA

fruit and nuts... not much more

even eating tons of those aren't the best thing either. I quit smoking a year ago and did the same. TBH, I found that not having tons of healthy snacks around better... If it was there, I'd end up eating it... so, just a piece of fruit or a lil baggie of almonds...

Nuts and fruits are the best snacks, imo. I love pistachios and raw almonds are pretty sweet once you get used to then, but really good for you. Baby carrots and hummus, celery and natural peanut butter are good. I like to peel a cucumber and salt it and eat it sometimes... But that can be a little messy for work.

The wife uses advocare bars...but they are expensive.

I prefer bananas, cashews and raisins.

fruits and nuts as mentioned.

I'll do greek yogurt or protein shakes as mid-day snacks as well. Probably not that conducive to the workplace though.

Vegetable wise carrots and raw broccoli are what I'll do for a snack from time to time.

As with all things, moderation is best.

Be careful with fruit. It's still sugar. Fruit is good in moderation (1-2 cups per day) but grapes are a notorious diet pitfall. Grapes, like many other fruits, can be eaten until you get tired of chewing. Not always a good thing when you're trying to cut calories.

Beef jerky is calorie dense but a good snack option. Nuts are also a good option but are high in calories. Just like fruit, use in moderation. More than a handful a day is overdoing it if these are taken as snacks.

Veggies are your best option but like Hulk said, can sometimes be a little difficult to prepare in the office. A lot easier if you prepare in advance.

String cheese
Baby carrots
Greek yogurt
Beef jerky
Nuts- only the portioned ones for 100 calories. One handful can have 150-200 calories

Can't go wrong with fruit- I eat 3-4 of apples, pears, grapes, oranges per day

I lost 65 lbs 6 years ago and have kept it off

I would suggest staying away from the crystal light. Unnecessary chemicals and flavors you don't need. You can add mint, strawberries, cucumber, lemon, etc to your water to make it have more of a flavor. You might not enjoy it as much at first, but give it a week or two and I think you will come to like it more.

I say fruit and nuts for healthy snacks. Eat as much fruit as you want! It is not too much sugar, though I know some disagree. You'll have to do what works for you.

You can trust me, I eat ~4-8 bananas a day.

Almonds and dried cranberries are my favorite simple go-to. Besides a green smoothie.

I would suggest the same. Just add a twist or lemon or drink your water plain. Save the flavor packets for meal time.

Ditch the office fridge, too. It will simply tempt you to keep more food around, which leads to overheating. Stick to high water content foods like cucumbers and celery....lots of chewing without many calories. Slice up an apple, stick it in a Baggie...no refrig needed. Ditto for cherry tomatoes, snow pea pods, and cauliflower.
