Didn't look like he could get a loan, the way he was begging for help. We thought the same thing when he posted the GoFundMe page. It was bizarre.

Gonna take the day off tomorrow so I can get there around 8am and beat the #linetojackson.

Kidding. I might swing by at lunch and stop in if there isn't a long line. His bbq is good but it isn't earth-shattering.

But it is legitimately top-two in the city if you aren't being disingenuous.

The lines are stupid. It shouldn't be that way. But the market dictates.

Agreed. Just too many great options in this city to wait in a 20+ person line for his bbq. I've been four times and have never had a person in front of me in line. He also acts like a child on social media which doesn't make me want to throw him any added support.

Apparently, his pit will only hold so much food and he can't afford another one. For a day, he started a GoFundMe page for money to buy another pit, as I recall. That was quickly removed, though. Then, he asked for investors and that hasn't happened.

TBH had he not talked so much shite about the other guys I'm sure someone would of came through to help him out. From what I gather the people at Joint, Squeal and McClure were all friendly. I saw McClure in Squeal before praising the Honey ham vodka.

Even if you didn't like Squeal the owners were friendly and easy to talk to. McClure is this way and my first time metting him he filled me and my workers boxes to the brim to go after we already dined in (at Dante's) then I saw him by a friends (he's a neighbor) and he was friendly and talking about cars and meats and stuff.

Robb, I also have mutual friends with and I can't say much good. Great cook, could have the best bbq joint in the city. If being a great cook was all that you needed to keep a restaurant going we wouldn't have so many failures.

I said before he failed at social media, he really didn't fail, but like the Yelp responses of the owner of Sammich, he rubbed many people the wrong way and bad reviews spread quicker and are much more damning.

I agree with you about the other bbq restaurants.

I'm not sure social media affected his sales bc he claimed to sell out everyday. Might have hurt him with getting help or investors, though.

five years ago we had McClure selling out the back of Dante's and Rob had a brick and mortar in Fat City.

I don't know his financials or what. But of the two, yes Rob puts out better smoked meats.

But something happened between A & B for these two.

Don't know. You have some suggestions?

What an assinine question. This is a food board where we discuss food, restaurants, service, the industry, owners, managers etc... The way owners act is part of it. Get over it.
