If you had said that first instead of saying "they liked to your face" the whole issue is different.
but they did lie

the fact that a water profile excuse was used as an excuse for lack of R&D when a fairly novice homebrewers knows that to simply be untrue is a slap in the face

assuming that the statement provided by the poster is factual

I said "they liked to your face" not lied.

Wait, that didn't work out too well for me.

I know that St. Arnold did not make an IPA until they got their reverse osmosis system in. Now they can make any beer they want.

Interesting..

Apparently that's why BJ's just came out with their hopstorm IPA too. Thanks for that info.

I heard they were trying some very sketchy strong arm sales tactics to try and keep NOLA from getting taps and shelf space in the local market. This was not long after NOLA hit the market.

Yeah, I didn't know they used adjuncts. I know they use extract for their hops and all of their flavorings such as strawberry, satsuma and even their pecan beers.

I always thought adjuncts were things like corn and rice.

Typically adjuncts are referring to corn, rice, etc not using cheaper flavorings for their fruit or hop extracts.

I had 3 Abita ambers at Walk-ons last night in honor of this thread. There wasn't a damn thing wrong with them.

I love Abita beer. I think they make a great product and it shows by their continued success. True, they don't make extreme beers, but I'm not in the mood for extreme beers all the time. They have a great selection of seasonal and year-round brews. I'm glad to have them in Louisiana and I buy their products all the time. I really don't understand why they are looked down upon by some in the craft beer scene, but everyone has an opinion and this is mine.

As for my favorites by them, in no order:

Pecan Harvest
Christmas Ale
Turbodog
Red Ale
Abbey Ale
and many others.

it has already been discussed plenty in this thread, but it is because they don't put out anything new anymore, or challenge themselves to create new, interesting beers, at least not in bottles

Wasn't my decision. I would have picked chimes east, but for a group of 8 it was a little tough.

Not a hop to be found in that place. Sad sad "local" establishment.
