Only been to Dragos once.

Other than the oysters, the food was just okay. I remember the prices being somewhat on the higher side and a bottled Bud Light being $6 or $6.50.

Mansur's has fantastic chargrilled oysters that hit the spot just as well (I see others in the thread don't agree, but I think they're very good), better entrees that justify the price, and I don't recall drinks being absurd.

you got damn right. I mean live steamed lobster is the same everywhere, even if it is at Golden Corral. you know what I meant.

I'm not much for lobster. I know a lot of people love it, and I don't hate it, but I think it is just okay.

This. Just okay and I think quite pricey for what it is.

They are a great family who gives alot to the community and some schools/charities that I care about so I'm going to go there a few times a year and point out of town work people staying in Metairie there.

I will say that I think they are better than ACME and will probably do well in Baton Rouge.

I've eaten at both over the years in Metarie and near the quarter and found the food to be average. The grilled oysters are good but I've eaten some just as good or better elsewhere. Hell Parrain's and Chimes East grilled oysters are as good to me. I'll probably not be patronizing that place often. Will be overpriced seafood in that location.

Galatoire's failed in that area because the food just wasn't that great.

I really don't think that this is correct. I ate there many times when I lived in Santa Maria and the food was good. I especially liked to have a long lunch there on Fridays and never had trouble getting a table.

I think they decided to pack up that location and move to the current location to take advantage of the lunchtime crowd. I've had lunch and dinner there at the new location and I find the lunch to be good generally, but dinner is hit or miss.

I would consider their exit from south BR more of a relocation than a failure and not because the food wasn't good, but because they wanted more lunch time business.

I love those. I buy the butter mixture from them and freeze it for future use. I do love some of the fish dishes. I don't like anything they stuff with seafood. The stuffing just isn't very good.

I live near the area. I am definitely excited for dragos and jubans bistro. Wish they would get going with jubans. The lengthy delays make me think it'll never happen.

I did notice they're putting a smoothie king in front of Alexander's.

And Mansur's has an all-star wine list.

Can we say the same for Drago's?

No one will be able to get there because of the already existing cluster frick involving the Perkins/Highland/Highlandia/I-10 gridlock. Wonder if they factored that into their site selection?

That's a perfect location for a NO restaurant. It's out of my sight and out of my mind.

Actually I agreed with very little of it. Sno's isn't good, and the others aren't even in the same category. Not sure why that's so hard for you to comprehend...

Just give me some chargrilled oysters and the Lobster Empire and I'm good to go

As for Galatoires I agree that when it was in this area it wasn't very good. Ate there a couple Christmas Eves in a row with the family and was very disappointed. Not sure if it's any better in its new location but because of my prior experiences I won't go back
