i would vote Dragos' char grilled oysters over Mansur's 10 out of 10 times.

Agreed. That is one item on the menu. In terms of the full menu, I see no difference

When I said it isnt "close", I am saying it as nobody with a palate will actually consider it better than the restaurants I listed. But sure in ranking order, I understand yalls point

Got you.

Also, I dont really view Dragos much differently than a place like Mike Anderson's.

I'm sure Dragos has dreams of being as successful as Mike Anderson's in BR.

Best seafood restaurant in BR

Either Dragos or one of the other NOLA rip offs.

Maybe Rum House for fish tacos?

Hope it does well in that area. Not many restaurants seem to stick around the county club except for french market bistro....

Its a stretch to call Ruffinos a seafood restaurant

Your post is laughable. I assure you that I have a refined palate and I personally think that Sno's isn't very good. The others you mentioned are probably superior (though none of them are anything special), but I don't consider any of them to be "seafood" restaurants. I think of Dragos more in the category of places like Mike Anderson's, Parrains, Drusilla, Pats, etc.

BR just doesn't have enough qualified diners.

I agree. Lobster is good but it's lobster. Lobster tastes the same everywhere.

I can see myself going to Dragos for oysters and beer. I can't think of a reason to go to Mike Andersons or Sno's. I think Drago's picked a good location, Galatoire's failed in that area because the food just wasn't that great.
