World Market has both
Don't buy wine at World Market. They have no clue of how to store and handle wine. I have bought a $75 bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape there that was seriously corked, when I returned it for a second opinion, they looked at me like I trained Ratt Fleas for a living.
Buy your wines from someone who knows wines.

Seriously, both of those are vastly over rated and are consumed by people far more concerned with labels than what's in the bottle. You would be far better off with Krug, Pol Roger Winston Churchill, or better yet, a grower Champagne. If you want to spend whatever Cristal or DP cost, find a Champagne at that price level and look for the letters RM printed at the bottom, or on the back of the label. This designates the wine as a grower Champagne. RM stands for Recoltant Manipulant, and it means that the grapes were grown by the winemaker rather than purchased. These are usually small production wines and the quality, particularly at the price level of Dom or Cristal, will be much greater.

I like the Veuve, a lot...perhaps, too much...

I'm thinking about splurging on one of these bottles for New Year's Eve. Are they worth the money and as tasty as everyone says? Which is the better choice?TIA
Neither are worth the money unless you happen to be a rap artist who doesn't know shite about champagne and is just interested in appearances.
I would reccomend a 1995 or 1999 Bollinger Grand Anee...unless you just want to say you drank Cristal

Both are overrated. Get a bottle of one of these and you'll be set:
Moet White Star
Veuve Cliquot
Billecart Salmon Rose (Best Champagne I've ever had)

Cristal
Is terrible, most overrated and overpriced champagne on the market.
In fact it's not even overrated.
10/10 of ten experts would probably tell you it's not very good
Maybe it was just because I hadn't had too many champagnes at this point in my life, but in 2000 I don't remember what vintage it was, but I thought it was very good, although I had very little to compare it to.

Waste of money IMHO, think of all the booze you can buy for $100.

No! Just have always been curious about trying one of them.
I'm sure others have already pointed this out but neither of those are very good for the price, they just have the best marketing people.

Just go with the Purple Drank!

Horrible.

Dom Perignon
Waaaayyyyyy overrated.
Veuve
Moet et Chandon
and the rest that have been named are much better. Expecially for the money.

I'll go ahead and be the dissenter about Veuve Cliquot. I think it sucks. It was a good entry level Champagne twenty years ago, but now it's crap. There are dozens of Champers that are better.

Oh, I don't think it's great or anything. Just a much better choice than the two mentioned in the OP.

Dom Perignon is a brand of vintage made by Moet et Chandon

I'm saying that variety, label and price point is pure bullshite.

Champagne varies greatly in its flavor profiles and it is really up to personal taste. I like the bolder flavors of Veuve (esp La Grande Dame) and am not a fan of Dom and others that are not as intense or sharp. Cristal is overpriced but is not crap.
As with most other items of this nature, if you are not an aficionado you will miss most of the pay off from this price point. The differences are more subtle (length of finish, complexity, etc) than those who do not drink a lot of champagne will get value out of.

Veuve Cliquot works just fine.

agree with Veuve Grand Dame of White Star as stated on here and yes, steer clear of World Market.
