Are there any places in New Orleans that are like Bergerons in Port Allen or Don's in Lafayette? I know Chris is in the process of being built. But, I am looking for something not in Lakeview.

Chris' opened yesterday. They're cash-only this week though, so don't walk in with plastic.

I believe the owner of Boucherie is opening up a shop like this in the old Cafe Nino building. Not sure where that stands though as I moved out of state a while back.

Try Emmett's Fine Meats & Seafood in Harahan

They got stuffed chickens that are awesome.

Here is a NOLA article about the new Bourrée at Boucherie. Says it just opened last Friday and "a butcher case is filled with sausages, hogshead cheese, smoked meats and even pimento cheese."

One of those is not like the others

I'll add Gourmet Butcher Block to the list. Pepper jack chicken sausage is top notch.

Emmett's and Cochon Buther are poor excuses for specialty meat markets. But i guess they are passable for the area.

I actually thought the head cheese was lite on the salt compared to others. You had the spicy or mild ?

During the holidays the stuffed mirliton is awesome.

Very disappointed in that place.

Hope the new place in Lakeview is legit.

Hope the tiny, expensive bland wings have improved at Bourree.
