You mean on the player pages? Yeah, that's legit.

I love how customizable everything is. I can actually make it to where it's not possible to pick up a player that's injured (would come in to play if we adopted that IR policy i was talking about earlier).

Dominic Smith, 1b, Mets

Smith returned from a brief disabled-list stint (ankle) on Saturday, but maybe he should have stayed in bed. The 19-year-old went 0-for-18 this week at high Class A St. Lucie with six strikeouts and two walks. The 2013 first-rounder lowered his season batting line to .153/.206/.169 with one extra-base hit (a double) through 16 games.

How is this dude considered a consensus top-100 prospect?

I added this to the OP in order to keep track of proposed changes. We can address them in full at the end of the season.

Proposed Rule Changes for 2016:
1. Give teams an unlimited number of IR slots. Injured players are not eligible to be added to teams via the WW or FA in order to prevent stashing.
2. Have a cut off date for milb free agent pickups in order to potentially add more quality players to the next season's draft.

Instead of having to cut a couple a couple of players when we draft, I'd like to add two slots... don't matter if it's regular or MILB ones.

Really? I think the last thing we need to do is to start adding roster spots. The FA pool is barren enough as it is.

If we are voting on the other stuff, any reason we cant vote on this? I think we should add roster spots also.

ETA: Your response doesnt really answer the scenario of us having to drop players to add players from the draft.

Long way from voting, but my early stance

I'm hoping to graduate 4 guys to my major league roster by next season. Once they meet their inning or at bat threshold, I'm going to be forced to cut people I feel should have no business on the wire in such a deep league.

It's just something to consider. If it doesn't pass, it's no biggie.

I'm sure there's some teams in sports that wish they could keep a player if only they had a little higher salary cap too. Gotta make some tough decisions at some point.

swamie, when you say cut off date for MiLB picks ups, when are we talking here? not sure i like that idea depending on the cut off date

draft will be stocked with the new crop of real life draftees and the import players.

As for expanding the rosters, I dont think you can expand them on the premise of needing room for MiLB guys getting promoted. I can see people wanting more spots added every year. I think part of the dynasty is figuring out what to do with them. Trade the old players for MiLB to fill those vacated spots.. 2 for 1s to clear room.. trade for draft picks etc

I understand the other side of the argument which is why it would be no biggie if we voted and it didn't pass. We're just throwing other idea/opinions to consider... like having an MILB pickup cut off period.

I'm looking forward to cutting a few of the slapdicks on my roster.

Looking at you, Marlon Byrd.

I was using the graduation of minor league players as just one example why I'd like to expand rosters. When we draft, we're going to have to cut players we might not want to drop. I can see people who are comfortable with their teams, who draft low in the first round, skip on the draft entirely. The second half of the first round will pretty much be like the 2nd round of the NBA draft.

The second part of what you mentioned is easier said than done. I've tried to move some of my older players to no avail. The younger teams with the promising prospects want to stay young. The older teams aren't willing to trade their promising prospects because they're old and need to worry about their future. You're likely to get 50 cents on the dollar making it not even worth moving.

I think it's a bit early for this, but it'll happen to some degree.

I don't think we need any more bench spots. That's what makes this league what it is. I'm constantly looking at the waives but rarely pick anyone up due to the low talent available. I couldn't imagine another 20-40 more guys rostered.

Are you thinking we should add two players to the pool EVERY year? If so, thats bananas. If not, why just this upcoming year?
