Yea I'm pretty aware of it. However, since fantrax allowed it, I assumed it was legal. I guess not. I'll make a move.

quote:

c) Once a player has played in a MLB game, he can be moved back and forth from the minors to the active roster until the threshold is hit. Once that happens, the player can no longer be placed on a minor league roster, even if the player is actually no longer on an MLB active roster.

I also wanted to point out in order to do this, unless there's already some who's considered a "minor leaguer" on your active roster, people are going to be forced to cut players.

You had coco crisp in an MiLB spot and was aware of it?

Going back through his lineups, he also had josh Hamilton there for a while.

On April 30, he put both Hamilton and coco crisp in the minors. Took Hamilton out on May 4. Coco out today

Obviously.

And you seriously thought it was kosher to put Coco Crisp on your minor league roster because fantrax didn't block you?

Yes, if you have a minor league player hit the threshold, and can't move someone you have active to a MiLB spot, you are going to have to cut someone. Either the minor leaguer in question or an active player to make room. And you are going to have to pick up a minors eligible player to keep your roster legal as well.

Although maybe not on the last part since Redd changed it to allow illegal rosters for the purpose of adds/drops. You might be fine with under the max 10 minors guys.

Yes. I thought it was perfectly legal because in order to shuffle players back and forth someone would have to go back on the farm. And since it wasn't blocked, I thought it was fine.

Which is why we just need total roster spots instead of the major and minor league split rosters. If the website isnt going to enforce this, it is to much work to study rosters to see if people are abusing this.

So does he get the no stats accumulated penalty for all these days?

I'm curious as well.

I manipulated my roster to accommodate all my injuries and have a perfectly legal roster according to fantrax. So I'm very curious to how we are going to approach and rule on this situation. I already explained why I thought it was fair game so I really don't need to regurgitate what I've already said.

I'm in no position to discuss the handling of this right now. I just got a text from Louie telling me that papz was making a mockery of the league so I popped in to check it out.

Hey how about an honor system where you just follow the rules even if fantrax allows it?

I can see having a guy on there who eclipses the benchmark ABs or IP and you don't realize it. Fair enough. On what planet would anyone even feel like having coco crisp, josh Hamilton, jake peavy etc on a roster reserved for minor leaguers would be within the rules? Those are some of the oldest MLB players

I hate to do this, because I hate the rules regarding the rosters but the rules say the following.

quote:

7. Illegal lineups will result in no stats accumulated for that day.

If the above rule is enforced, I win the matchup 12-0 which would put me in 1st place. (Unless the same rule bumps someone else up also.)

Had I known it was illegal I wouldn't have done it.

This is now my 5th opponent and it took 5 weeks for someone to actually tell me it wasn't legal. And had GF not pointed it out, who knows how long I would have done it. That also say something about whether or not my opponent even knew if it were legal or not. I also played GF last week and it took a rejected trade for him to even realize it.

Whatever the ruling my be, I'll deal with it. If all my wins are vacated, I'd like to know soon so I can plan accordingly how I will approach the rest of the season.
