Calandros at a first glance does appear to be drawing a upper middle class clientele but this incident is an utter shame. Kudos to them for acknowledging and trying to rectify the situation.

So she bought veggies, cheese and baking soda and THEN went into the meat section? Why not just pay for everything at once? Of course she had intentions of stealing.

From viewing her LinkedIn profile, I have a hard time believing that someone of her educational level and background needs to steal meat.

That's like trying to catch Cy Young for the wins record. No one from this era is going to catch him. His lead is too large, and the game isn't played that way any more.

Yeah. Risk her bar license to steal a couple pieces of meat?

Then why would she stand in line and pay for items only to return to the meat section and put items in her bag only to have to stand in line again to pay again?

Let's be frank, the stereotype is that black people are on food stamps (we know that the majority of food stamp recipients are white). Not accepting food stamps is a not so subtle cue to your employees that black people aren't welcomed at your store.

She may have forgotten to get the meat. As Ron White says, "and then I forgot. You ever forget? Happened to me."

No idea. She may have forgotten to get it initially, or maybe it was a last second addition.

But anyway, you're right. Don't put groceries in a bag before you're ready to buy them. It just looks suspicious.

Calandro's on Government is an awesome place to shop if you like buying produce covered in fruit flies and shelves full of expired food.

Exactly, it looks suspect. Not saying she's guilty, but I can see their (Calandro's) point in being suspicious.

Reached by phone today, Gholston declined to comment, saying she is still too emotionally distraught to discuss the matter.

This is BOILERPLATE lawyer speak for "I plan on filing a civil suit." Then I see someone posts that they went to law school with this chick. Hmmm.

Literally so that this exact situation could happen and he could cry and get free press for her law business and maybe even a lawsuit out of it.

It's a completely stupid nonstory that never should've been run in the first place.

Of course. Although, I go to the store pretty often and my trips always revolve around meat. That's the one item I'm least likely to forget. To each his (or her) own I suppose.

I believe she misspoke in her post. She had already placed those items in her bag. Calandro's reviewed the tape and admitted they were in the wrong.

The store's screwup doesn't make this backlash okay.

Either (a) when she says "bought" she means she placed the items in her bag (hence the "I haven't even been to the front of the store yet" comment) or (b) she forgot to get the meat first time through.

Either way, y'all really think she's going to risk her bar license to steal a couple pieces of meat from Calandros?

This chain is full of racist, violent nuts who discriminate against anyone that doesn't look like them and/or uses reusable bags from their competitors. We don't need this hateful store in BR. They seem to feel the USA is Russia but that explains their immature actions. #BoycottCalandros

Self-hating white people are the worst. Can I be racist just towards a type of a person? Those people make me crazy.

Shut up. This is SJWs and BLM causing chaos wherever there are too many white people for their liking.

Btw, for a lawyer, Lani has the worst syntax/sentence structure. It's like reading my nephews homework. Sad!
