27 years old, single
Net - $4000/month
Rent/Utilities - $1100
Savings (rainy day fund) - $440
Car w/ full coverage as stated - $420
Bills (phone, CC, etc) - $500
Grocery, Gas and Fun - $1000 (rough estimate)
Remaining money goes to retirement (about $500/month so about 12.5%)
I know it needs some improving, but being single, I'm not too stressed out. I'll start putting more towards retirement when the car is paid off, and once my rainy day fund reaches $10k, I'm gonna bring that down to $200/month, and add $240 to retirement.

Try to get that down to $500 per month. Compound interest, my friend.

Do you have a 401k? Is that part of the $500?

I'm always interested to see what others are doing as well and what I need to work on.

Yes, I know I track this stuff with way too much detail, so tl;dr whatever. I always look at things as a fraction of gross income, since taxes are usually your largest expense and should be managed accordingly.
Monthly:
Gross - $12400
All taxes (Fed, FICA, Property) - $3600
All insurance (Health, dental, vision, disability, home, car) - $600
Mortgage - $1700
401k, Backdoor Roth IRA, HSA - $2200
Non-tax advantaged investing (ESPP, Brokerage) - $1000
Travel fund - $500
Bills & Utilities - $500
Groceries/restaurants - $700
Gas, Tolls - $200
Drinking/entertainment/gambling/dating- $800
Other miscellaneous - $600 (but has a bad habit of ending up in the previous category)
I know a lot of people keep a large amount in a "rainy day fund" which is a good thing. But I hate pocketing 88 cents of interest every month when that money could be better invested. So I only keep about $3K in cash and invest the rest. I can't imagine a scenario where I would need more than $3K without at least a week's notice.

35 years old married, 2 kids
Net-$18,000
Mortgage-$2,500
Cable, water, Entergy- $450
Credit Card-$4,000*
Daycare-$1,500
Lawn service-$150
*I put everything on my credit card for points. Insurance, groceries, dining out, etc. I pay bill in full every month. Dining out kills me. 4K is about average for me.
I save all money in a savings account until I either buy another investment property, or put it in stock market. I have a seperate savings account that I keep 20K in as my rainy day fund. Have never dipped into it once so I'm knocking on wood now.

Other bills (car insurance, phone, gym, etc.) - $300/month

Here's a screenshot of mine:
Family of 3. Wife is a teacher. I'm a grad student. Life is a bit tough right now financially.
Some notes:
Daycare is actually about $650/month but our teacher is taking a few days off in May. We use a Flex account, so some of that money comes back.
I'm an accidental landlord, so I've kept the $45/month American Homeshield payment in case of emergencies.
Shopping and Necessities are kind of combined and fluctuate. My son is two so between clothes, toys, diapers, lotion, diaper cream (shite is expensive), doctor visits, medicine, etc - it can add up. Then there's needs that my wife and I have such as new shoes, clothes, pants (my jeans just ripped), detergent, etc.
Gifts are $50/month because we give a good bit when we can.
Discover card is almost paid off. Citi card is interest free for another 9 months and the $75/month will pay it off without interest.
We make $4400 combined after FLEX account "refund" and some supplemental income of mine.

I wish I put more to savings. Last month I ran in the red, so I didn't pay myself anything, but I did use the company accounts to pay my bills. ( I need to seperate the two, but I run everything from one Checking account)
My dining out and 'fun' budget is 2x my savings.
My vacation budget is almost as large. (save monthly to go on 3-4 vacations a year)
