I made a map of Jackson for you guys.

I just sent that to my Father-in-Law who lives in Madison.

Thank you very much.

Doesn't look all that great. Where are the people, did they film that on a Sunday morning?

Never been.

I have a colleague that lives in NE Jackson. Kids go to JA - that's their community school.

My wife went to Prep

All my friends from Jackson went to JA or Prep. I have 2 from St. Andrews as well, but they're weird.

That map is pretty funny. Lol Eastover.

The houses near Eastover are all for sale, and they have been since I moved here.

So does Jackson or BR have a downtown area as nice as this?

Alley station

The Alley Station is pretty cool, but it isn't exactly the Vegas Strip. Its really just two bars and a few restaurants.

Montgomery is a crap town, but what they did downtown should be a model for a lot of other Southern cities who have downtown revitalization goals. Riverfront Park is a great venue for baseball and the city has done a good job using that as a spark for development downtown. Birmingham basically copied Montgomery...who copied Chattanooga.

Do love Montgomery's ball park...and now love Regions field in Bham. That was a good model.

I grew up in the Baton Rouge area. I lived in the Jackson area for five years before recently moving to Biloxi. Jackson is an awful place. I don't know how anyone could rank Jackson ahead of Baton Rouge.

If Montgomery's ballpark was a little bit bigger, it would be a great spot for the SEC Tournament. Hotels/Restaurants are all around it and there is room for parking & tailgating that Regions Field doesn't have. Fans wouldn't have to leave a 3-4 block radius so what the rest of the town is like wouldn't matter.

I know they submitted a bid a few years ago and the capacity was the main issue.

If I had to rank em best to worst I'd say

1 -- Jackson (based on the food alone)
2 -- BR
3 -- Montgomery

Baton Rouge is #1 by a long shot.
Lived in Jackson for 3 years and couldn't stand it. Jackson is an absolute shite hole with nothing to offer. Anyone ranking Jackson above Baton Rouge is out of their mind.

Just passed through Montgomery, but I would also rank Baton Rouge ahead of Montgomery.

So 1) Baton Rouge, 2) Montgomery, 3) Jackson

My God, Montgomery must be a shithole

I lived there for several years, and my mom still lives on the East side, so I still visit. It's a shithole. Downtown is a little better with the ballpark and the Alley, but it doesn't make up for the wasteland that is most of Montgomery.
