All three state capitals. All three objectively pretty jacked up places. In each, to contemplate the many interwoven social pathologies at their very core is to stare into the uncaring heart of rote brutalism itself.

At least Jackson has the Fondren area and a couple decent bars downtown. Montgomery doesn't have much of anything.

I lived in Jackson for 6 months. The day my leased ended, I hightailed it back to Louisiana.

Montgomery has zero redeeming quality other than being an hour from Auburn. It's a total and complete shithole that is increasingly unlivable. I think the same is true for Jackson but I don't travel there frequently.

Jackson is a total shithole. Montgomery is a shithole.
Baton Rouge has to have better stuff than either of the other two. Montgomery has a neat little area around the Riverwalk.

Lived in Baton Rouge for 5 years before moving to Jackson. I'm now going on 18 months in Jackson and can only say that this is a place of abundant social and economic disparity (even more so than in Baton Rouge).
Simply put, I would gladly take back my house on Geranium St. than live in Jackson.

Montgomery is the worst. Baton Rouge is second. Jackson is the best out of the three.
