I don't recall a former President or Vice President being so publicly and intentionally critical of sitting President EVER.
Cheney's column in the Wall Street Journal is really unprecedented.

If you can't read it let me know I will copy and paste.

Maybe they should have an old-fashioned duel. We can't lose either way.

That fricking criminal is one to talk.

Yeah yeah, Obama's an idiot. But this?
I get that our "gains" were hard-fought. Unfortunately, they are doomed to be eternally costly to maintain as well. frick it.

It will let email it, print it, post a link to facebook ect. so I don't think they mind be copying and pasting it as it is a opinion piece not a proprietary, copyrighted production of the WSJ.

Seems to me I remember Obama and other Dem officials prior to him, having no problem going outside country criticizing a GOP President.
I'll tell you what's unprecedented, is the constant b!^thcin and moaning by a sitting President about his predecessor.
No class whatsoever.

Five responses in on a Cheney thread and no use of the word "Halliburton."

I don't believe Carter's criticism was so sharp.

Carter and Clinton both crossed the line multiple times in their attacks on President Bush. That said it doesn't excuse former VP Cheney, they should all take a seat and be quiet like both former Bush Presidents.

Cheney is a lethal wordsmith; that's why the Left has to trash him with the 'Haliburton/no WMDs' bs. I'm glad that he remains a thorn in their sides.

"Stupid"...could be a tad generous, CB.

Once again Cheney tried to jump out ahead of criticism that is obviously coming his way. It is defense by offense. He knows he fricked up. They all know.

Well...why not just try the whole damn Military, just like the Nazis who carried out murderous orders from the top. Point your fingers at all the scarred and maimed soldiers who *believed* that they fought for all those folks over there, to be FREE from the rape and humiliation of a family of ruthless despots who had WMD's, used em' on their own...and hated us for kickin' their asses out of Kuwait.
And our finest who sacrificed, but celebrated all those 'purple fingers' when they got their first vote. Or made friends with those poor kids over there.
This 'war crimes' stuff pisses me off, but is par for the lying-assed, Alinskyite tactic of smearing anybody that don't buy their mind-warped Authoritarian/Progressive ideology. Islamists brethren, no less; just a different color.
Anybody that ain't in the above category, ought to drop this bs right now; it denigrates the honorable service of the soldiers who fought to liberate that nation. None of us realized - then - what we know now. Such being that it is existentially impossible for Democracy to exist in a Nation that is Muslim. Their 'Book'...nullifies any such scenario. And the suicidal Fundamentalist will sink the whole ship in defense/promotion of that Book/Prophet.
We learned a hard lesson, for the right reason. Let it go. Or be guilty of the same thing you paint Cheney and those who gave this 'compassionate warfare/win hearts and minds policy a legit shot. Being wrong...for a reason you believe to be right.
