The Cubs didn't want to have to call him up and the recent toe injury gives them just enough reason not to. We'll see KB once he hits super 2.

Cubs pitcher Felix Doubront allowed three runs during his first rehab start Tuesday.
Doubront tossed four innings, giving up three runs on four hits. He walked two and struck out seven during the outing. Doubront threw 80 pitches. He's been sidelined since late July with a calf injury.

another Edwin jackson start. Down 4-0 bottom of first. at this point give him his money and eat the loss. era sitting at 5.96.
tired of knowing it's gonna be a bad game just about every time he pitches

I have to admit that I won't watch a Cubs game anymore if he is pitching.

Russell is going grapenuts at AAA. I will still contend he is Chicago's best prospect.

8/18: 2/5, 2 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 0 K
8/19: 2/5, 2 R, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 0 K
8/20: 2/5, 2 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 0 K

Fellas, just understand that Jackson's awfulness is actually helping the Cubs. I don't want to watch his starts anymore than you do, but he's helping us get that high draft pick.

Good job the other day with the tarp.

I just cannot fathom anyone ahead of Kris Bryant. I was pushing Bryant should be top overall prospect for months before it happened. It is stupid how good he is.

I think Soler is going to be better than Bryant, honestly.

I came away from the game at Zephyr Field incredibly impressed with Soler. He's almost freakishly athletic and has one of those Baez like swings, but he can control it and has a great eye.

Bryant's power is so effortless and easy...and he's a great contact hitter, too. He will strike out, but that's in part to his ability to take the pitcher for long counts.

Both guys are looking really, really good.

Yep, EJax to the DL, Castro to the bereavement list. Rosscup up, Watkins up.

From Rotoworld: "Jackson was hammered for seven earned runs in just 2 2/3 innings Wednesday in a loss to the Giants, dropping him to 6-14 on the year with a 6.09 ERA. He is owed $22 million over the next two seasons. This is a mess."

With every game that passes by, it's seeming like this was the deal of the deadline.

It's a 12 step program to get to Wrigley.
