I am curious.
A lot hinges on velocity. His velocity was down over 4 MPH since the middle of last year. Peripherals say he should be way better than traditional statline.

If he regains velocity, a move out of the AL East & into the NL Central could spell success. I've always liked his stuff visually, but he's always been a little "off" mentally. Quick to deteriorate when something small goes wrong, but I'd rather have to overcome mental hurdles than physical limitations.

I'm on board with whatever they do. They seem to be spot on with their draft picks.

I just think initially they didn't realize that the rebuilding job was this big and take as much time which is why they signed Jackson like they did. I know there was some financial obstacles that played a part in the rebuilding as well.

And it doesn't seem like he's taking coaching from Bosio.

You are correct. That is an area that he needs to improve. However, considering that he is 21 and had 4 HR's through his first 9 MLB games to go along with 11 hits, I'll continue to be optimistic.

Brett Jackson was traded to the Diamondbacks last night. That's not the real news. The news is that it opens up a 40-man roster spot. For whom? Probably a starter or reliever not yet on the 40-man.

C.J. Edwards - 6 IP, 4 H, 1 BB, 1 K (71 pitches - 40 strikes)

K #s are down at AA, but the 1.30 GO/AO ratio in AA and overall season 1.48 ratio is something that will serve him well pitching in Wrigley.

Homer pick: Rooting for Zack Godley in A ball. Got his velocity up (mid-90s) and has pitched well. May get promoted soon*.

Baez is also only the 2nd second baseman to hit 5 HRs in his first 14 games in the last 100 years.

LINKi guess this is a good example of why people hate bleacher report. Y'all have been sayin for months that there's no way he gets called up. Any "reporter" with half a brain should know that

Well, we could always be wrong. But I don't think the Cubs will call him up. It's not like he needs the extra AB's, unless the Cubs want to give him MLB AB's if Iowa misses the playoffs. I doubt they risk the service time though.
