I have family in Ohio so I've been there plenty of times. I'll take Louisiana and all its issues and problems over Ohio all day every day....
The whole "Courtney Love hired El Duce to kill Kurt Cobain" conspiracy theory was started by El Duce and his band. It was proven to be BS a long time ago. They even admitted they made it up. Years ago some friends of mine and I were staying at a cabin in Arkansas. This cabin was in the middle of nowhere up a mountain. No neighbors and really secluded. One night we were all hanging out by the fire pit area, which was maybe 35 yds from the cabin. All of a sudden two of the guys stood up a...
The same reports that I (and anyone from UP or ties to it) knew Holly was being arrested days before it happened.
Not saying you're wrong, but pretty sure you started a thread a while back claiming you had inside info that LSU was going to get slapped by the NCAA for lack of instit...
There is a fault that starts @ north-central Red River parish and runs southwest into De Soto parish. That's probably where the quakes are generating from. There are also several faults in Caddo and Bossier parishes. ...
Mediocre band at best.
I was actually friends with one of the band members of Benjy Davis Project and even I agree with this. Don't get me wrong, they were all great musicians, but their songs were corny....
I'm my opinion he's testing him to see if he can trust him. Doesn't necessarily mean it's crime related stuff though....

Had a medical procedure done a while back. Received statement from health insurance indicating they fully paid for it. A week later I received a huge bill from medical provider for same procedure. According to the bill, insurance didn't cover procedure. I called my insurance co. and was told the med...
2,3,1
You know you've been on the OT for too many years when you look at that picture and you think to yourself that the first person to respond will say 2,3,1, and then it really happens....

re: 1990s Highland Taco Bell

Posted by Monkeyboy on 10/4/23 at 2:40 pm
There was definitely a Taco Bell over there. It was located about where the CVS on Highland is now. That place got some business. The line getting in was a mile long on Friday and Saturday nights. Then it burned down. I was surprised it wasn't rebuilt....
As a teenager I grew up in a rural area and hit about 4 deer in my car but narrowly missed probably 30. My dad put these on my car and I never hit a deer again. Could just be luck, I don't know. What I noticed after they were installed is that rather than running away a lot of the deer would just st...

re: Cyberpunk 2077 - Finally bought it

I bought it for like $20 a few months ago. It was well worth it. Ended up beating it.
Sandevistan build with a katana is so satisfying.
I plan on replaying it after the Phantom update comes out and I'm going with this build. I could tell that this would be a cool build. Also ...

re: Anybody played Cyberpunk lately?

Posted by Monkeyboy on 6/15/23 at 9:41 pm
I started playing it for the first time like 2 months ago and finished it last week. I enjoyed it. Really didn't have any issues. My only complaint is that driving cars is like driving on ice, but I found that motorcycles worked much better so I stuck with that. I enjoyed it enough that I'll probabl...

re: Have you ever seen a UFO?

Posted by Monkeyboy on 6/6/23 at 10:08 pm
I don't believe in aliens but I've seen what most would consider a UFO.
Eitek1, I don't know what the Belgian UFO looks like but if it's a black triangle with orangish lights than I and two other people with me saw what you saw, except it was about 15 or so miles west of Slaughter an...
Believe Bucees was slated to open shop off I12 in BR but Louisiana political frickery killed the deal.
Louisiana is going to be Louisiana, but Bucees was pulling some shenanigans with that BR location. Heard that from someone involved with the negotiations for the deal....
Unless the stats you're referring to have been normalized, they're not making an apples-to-apples comparison across the years.
Ha ha! Normalized to what? Population in Baton Rouge? It's been about the same for years. I think you're using fancy words but not knowing what they really...
We didn't have gangland style hits in broad daylight on Bluebonnet
?? Bluebonnet by the mall didn't exist until what, late 80s really 90s? There was certainly nothing out there other than Jimmy Swaggert land. No mall or any of that....
Your graph doesn’t specify the homicide rate now in BR compared to the 80’s-90’s.
I never said the table specified homicide rate. I said in my post it was a table depicting total violent crimes (includes rape, assaults, armed robberies, etc.). My point was that violent crime was wo...
Nationally but not in BR. The most violent 3 years in BRs history were 2022, 2021, 2020. 2017 is up there as well.
Nah, the mid 80 through mid 90s had the highest violent crime rate ever in Baton Rouge and it wasn't even close. Here are two charts to prove it, both based on FBI da...
