NOLA has its French Quarter and that is what keeps it going. Eliminate the Quarter and NO ONE would come there. The locals love to hate on the FQ but reality is if it was sunk into oblivion tomorrow that would be the death sentence of the city. Thats FACT.

The ZOO?

Besides San Diego Zoo and maybe 2 others, no one goes to a specific city for its zoo.

The WW2 Museum?

Its considered a world class museum so i dont know where youre going with this.

The food? NY, Chicago, San Fran etc.. all have better.

So after those three cities, no other city is worthy of going based off of the food? New Orleans is widely considered to be one of the top food cities in the US.

How you gonna call yourself nawlinstigah and hate NOLA?

I lived there for almost a year when I was doing a co-op with Monsanto when I was still in college and made my username then. My ties don't go as deep as my username would suggest. I rep the dirty Denham but am now in Denver

Seems like you had one poboy at Guy's and didn't like it and are now mad.

Besides, besides LSU BR has no tourist allure, neither does Laffy. They're not dead.

And either way, regardless of the tourist value of the FQ, it's still not the best part of the city.

Jesus this is dumb.

Have you spent any time elsewhere? Uptown is much better than the FQ IMO. There's fun to be had downtown but the fact is if you're not trying to just get absolutely trashed bourbon street really sucks, Pat O's excluded.

And your opinion is far from fact.

Dude i've probably been going to NOLA since before you were alive. I know whats uptown and thats YOUR opinion like I gave mine. I've been all over that city time and again. Its fun for a day or two then i'm headed back north to Ascension.

You honestly think if the quarter were abondoned tomorrow NOLA would still flourish as a tourist city? If you do you're naive.

the main attraction and in NOLA's case it's the Quarter.

Dude, you have to actually visit before spouting this shite. The streets of Uptown are clogged with sightseeing buses, people are constantly asking me for directions(Uptown), I have to stop and let people cross in front of me cause they are so into looking at the homes/gardens. Your Idea of NOLA is just an idea of someone that doesn't know any better. That's OK, enjoy where you are.

This is definitely true. The French quarter is something to see. I'd suggest tourists go there for a day and hit up Pat O's at night. The rest of their visit should be used for places outside of the FQ. There is tons to do in the WHD and Uptown.

No i've unfortunately had three. Twice by my own choice and once because it was close to the place we were visiting and got outvoted to go. All Three times they were consistant. Shitty overfried shrimp on hard arse bread that tore the roof of my mouth up and damn proud of those things. All the while swatting roaches with a paper in that dive. That considered by you locals as one of the "best" too. Freakin ACME pobays are better.

Never mention BR as a tourist city did I. If I did post it so I can remember. But... take LSU out of BR and see if what little tourism it does have maintains the numbers.

It's not to you locals no. But to the tourist, like the OP of this whole thread it is. Thats my whole point here. Isn't it?
