I'm going to go with a lot of the current main players biting the dust before the end - some heroically, some cowardly, some as turn cloaks. When the snow and smoke clears it is:
Marriage alliance of Rickon Stark and Shireen Baretheon. She has been cured of her greyscale by the Red Woman at some point (or maybe not). Depending on their ages at the end, Davos may act as regent for Shireen. With maybe a separate regent for Rickon but I'm not sure who I'd put there.
Alternate ending: White Walkers are wiped out but the last 3 dragons die in the battle. Magic fades out of the universe. The Citadel takes over (don't ask me how) and imposes what they call a meritocracy (but with a hint before the end that in reality it is or will become a dictatorship or oligarchy. Faith of the Seven may support them in exchange for the supression of the "magic" based religions.

I dunno. I think that, unfortunately it has gotten to a point that threads like this almost have to be designated either reader or non reader (or middleground) to avoid controversy. Think about it - if you are asking readers who they would like to sit on the iron throne at the end, their answers would very likely at least give an indication that the people they named are alive at whatever point they've read up to.

To be honest, I don't think I really care for that one much myself. And I know it is highly unlikely. But it just seems like something I could see GRRM contemplating.
