We were supposed to go to my nannys. But we were too tired. pulled a pork loin out of the freezer to roast and am going to make rice dressing out of the leftover rice in the fridge. I have two pints of LA strawberries also. Easy enough.

R2R, that is beautiful. Jealous.

My phone died right as I snapped a photo of my meal.

Just out of curiosity, how many of you all went to church or participated in some sort of religious celebration of the Resurrection?

Took the family to the early morning services and we went to the in-laws for lunch. Nothing too exciting was had. We had just the basic shis kabobs. The nephew is still in his picky stage of eating and wanted nothing but the steak. So, I had all vegetable kabobs, which was fine by me.

Dinner is coming up. Steaks (I didn't know about the shis kabobs ), asparagus, mashed potatoes and a bottle of Riesling.

We had the traditional southern jewish easter of crawfish and cheese casserole, ham, matzo ball soup, macaroni and cheese, and green beans filled with bacon.

So wrong, so right

Just threw a chicken on the weber. Gonna give it a little smoke. I'm still noob at grilling/smoking. My first time trying chicken. Hopefully it comes out alright.

matzo ball soup

I've tried 3 times, but this is just not good.

I can't tell my half Jewish lady friend though. She wouldn't be happy.

You just haven't had good matzo ball soup, Ham. I love it. I got most of the leftovers from Passover Monday night. I'm Catholic. Lasagna was the entree.

Went to R'evolution for lunch. Outstanding!

Looks good even though I am so beyond full right now. Just woke up from a nap in the hammock. Had that same wine Friday night. Good stuff.

The whole family was able to get together this year, so we all are staying at our farm home at Edisto Island. This Easter became bigger than Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Everyone was able to help one way or another with cooking, so we were able to fully enjoy ourselves. Throughout the day, we had an oyster roast, shrimp and grits, hoppin' john, red rice, tomato salad, fried cabbage and okra, the obligatory dish of skillet cornbread, pecan tarts, and my aunt's ginger ice cream which is very refreshing. Drinks included Tradd Alley Punch, Arnold Palmer's, white wine, and now onto Lewis Redmond bourbon.

The chicken is about done. I'm crossing my fingers it tastes somewhat decent.
