Going to be spending a few days in this area on business. Suggestions for dinner?

Kim Ahn's for very casual lunch. Oak Oven is a new pizzeria that is doing good things.
If you're talking about a business meal(fancier), you will probably need to leave the Elmwood area.

Amazing that Elmwood was brought up and we have yet to see a national chain (not counting Zea) ...good work fellas
Bobby's seafood is also pretty good in River Ridge, about 5-7 minutes away

Good suggestions.
OP, you aren't far from the River Bend area. A lot of good options there.

How are they doing these days?
When I worked in that area, I was there at least once a week and loved it. Right about the time I was leaving my job, I thought new owners took over.
With as much love as I keep hearing about Oak Oven, those people might as well start planning a move to a bigger location.

Shimmy Shack. Slow but good, so better for dinner.
Friday they have shrimp and grits with blackened catfish.

Gotta disagree. I went last week for the first time and enjoyed the atmosphere. The food on the other hand was pedestrian. Not a bad spot for a beer on the patio but don't eat there.

New owners are doing a decent job but the food has slacked off a tad. Still have a fiya dirty turkey poboy and cuban burger though. I go once every 3 weeks or so.
Also for the OP.. I don't think Koz's or Hickory are open for dinner.

Not sure I would say pedestrian. Burgers, simple plates, but you can get quite an interesting spin on things. You can get your shrimp and oysters "buffaloed," many cheese options, including brie, and it is well-prepared. Ask, and they can hook you up.
It's nothing fancy, and it does not push any boundaries, but a it's a good place to spend time with some interesting preps of simple foods. The atmosphere is why the slow service is less of a demerit, agreed.
What did you get? I normally get the shrimp and grits, the blarney burger, the chicken sanwhich (buffalo), or a salad with tuna.

Never been to Oak Oven, will have try it out this weekend.
Shimmy Shack is meh.
Kim Anh's is legit.
Hickory Creek BBQ is a typical BBQ joint, some solid choices there.
Hickory Cafe and Koz's are lunch spots.
