Grandfather passed away this morning. Was my last grandparent. Ill always have memories of catching crabs with chicken wings from his boat and him riding us kids around the cane fields with pellet guns letting us shoot rabbits. My grandmother passed away 3 years ago and his health and mind declined. The last year he didnt really know who any of us were. He'd cry when he saw his great grandchildren, not because he knew who they were, but because he didnt know them. It's somewhat a sigh of relief now thinking that he has gotten his memory and health back and is no longer suffering. It's said often on here that you should enjoy every moment with your loved one because you never know when they will be gone. I'll just say that appreciate the time spent and make memories because there will be a time when that's all that is left.

Prayers are with you and yours.

Family is what it's all about! In February I will have my fifth grand child, I can't wait.

Cherish those memories of your Grandfather and pass them down. Sounds like he is most deserving of that.

Sorry to hear that hoss. Thoughts and prayers with you and the fam. Never really knew either of my pawpaws, which is one of the few faults I find with my life. One died before I was born and the other had alzheimer's the little time he had with us. Died when I was like 6 or so.

My paw paw died when I was 5. Strangely enough, I still have vivid memories of him almost 30 years later. I spent most of my time at his house before he passed. Always wish I would have had more time with him, but like yourself, I cherish every moment knowing that I spent what I could. I will keep you and yours in my prayers for sure.

Prayers, man. My grandpa wasn't much of a hunter or fisherman, but that's because he worked until the day he died of cancer. He would make me take him to bail hay the day he got back from chemo. He was my best friend and 5 years later I walk up on his front to see my grandma and half expect him to be there telling me to get my arse on the tractor cherish the memories you made with him. I'd give anything to be 8 years old again driving his old truck into town to sell some hay.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I lost my grandfather almost 50 years ago and he is still the most influential person I ever had in my life.

Prayers for you and yours. Grandparents have such an impact on kids. Praises that you had such a wonderful grandfather. You will remember your time with him for all your life.

Billy Graham's devotion today was about how God has given us a little chunk of eternity ( our time on Earth). Your post made me think of that. God Bless.
